(Dec. 6, 2020) — “Up On The Roof” (2:33)
“Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to ‘The Pulse of the Nation,’ the place to hear it here first. There have been rumors of sounds of anguish from the markers of those who had identification numbers tattooed on their forearms during the NAZI regime, so we decided to see for ourselves. Hello, I’m your Roving Reporter (RR) wandering around in a cemetery looking for a… Found it: Anne Frank. I heard it was here and here it is. I understand that Anne Frank’s tombstone is not an uncommon sight in any graveyard or cemetery where enlightened people wish to remember man’s inhumanity to man. If I listen closely I think I detect millions of voices wailing their disappointment of empty libraries, of dusty books, of generations of knowledge ignored and going to waste: welcome the possibility of total destruction to be found in the Stalin-Hitler-Mao mold of a belief that Communism-Fascism-Totalitarianism is preferable to our Constitution.
“It has been with shock, disappointment and grave concern that many – thousands – of our fellow citizens have turned their backs on our Constitution by falsifying election results. I have the right to protect myself from any threat that endangers family, country and myself. This Biden-Harris combination is the testament of years of pushing ignorance as something to strive for and be proud of. Those who blow the horn of Socialism are the same ones who yelled ‘Sieg Heil,’ and if you could interview any Berliner in 1945 and asked them if Socialism was something to aim for they would inform you that it would be a colossal mistake.
“We are sitting on the back porch of ‘Madam Shylock’s Fortune-Telling Emporium’ located in Cassadaga, Florida, with Henry, the ambassador of Zyklon, a person of such renown who needs no introduction. What’s going on, Henry?”
“Disappointment is going on, Roving. There are so many disenfranchised people in this country it’s a wonder you speak the same language, and I don’t know if you do. If you listen to the Fake News you come away with the thought that Trump is some sort of anti-American when the truth is the opposite. I mean, what gives?”
“The operative word is gullibility: some people believe what they’re told to believe and that’s all there is to it.”
“No kidding?”
“No kidding. Remember the Russian Collusion Hoax? The phone-call-to-Ukraine Impeachment Hoax?”
“Golly, how many hoaxes do you have?”
“One for every day of the week and twice on Sunday. Let’s take a commercial break, shall we?”
“Tragedy” (2:05)
“How do you people stay sane with all this going on?”
“And therein lies the problem, the basic problem. We have Cuomo and de Blasio in the East and Newsom and Garcetti in the West and a whole lot of sanctuaries in between, which means half the country is, as Professor Zorkophsky would say, bonkers.”
“No country can survive long with such a chasm between people, or can it?”
“No, they can’t. The cure, of course, is education, but how do you teach the unreachable, the set-in-their-way Orange-Man-Bad crowd? I think prison is a viable solution with the only reading material the Constitution and the real history of the United States, starting when the Mayflower was blown off-course and landed at Plymouth Rock.”
“That’s it?”
“Throw in the Beowulf, Magna Carta and Chaucer and you got the basis of why young men died on the beaches of Normandy on D-Day.”
“That seems a bit much.”
“Not if you make conscription mandatory for everyone, men and women, who must serve for at least two years in our military. Teach then to read and why Socialism and Communism are empty promises that lead to starvation and a dead-end for the human race. Imagine the government in charge of anything except the military, and even that stretches the imagination incredulously.”
“Zyklon is recalling me for a full report on you people: what should I tell him?”
“Tell him Trump and the Constitution will prevail, one way or the other. Tell him there are many more patriots than traitors; more of us who know the difference from going to the grocery store or staying home eating the pets; more of us who revere those who have died for freedom as opposed to those who couldn’t care less. We’re not so different than the far-Eastern cultures which venerate their ancestors: we salute our Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery.”
“I’ll report that to Zyklon.”
“You know, when I was a little boy my father took me to the changing of the guard at that tomb and, at the time, I thought it was a mighty big box for one dead person. Later on in life I went to a war and learned that when soldiers are killed on the field of battle it is not a pretty or quiet sight: body parts flying through the air and lots of screaming that rolls around in the head for years. The sights, sounds and smells of combat are a part of who I am, and I’ll be damned if I’m going to go through that only to see my country taken over by greedy nitwits such as Biden-Harris and followers. Not going to happen: that you can take to the bank. There is no way on God’s green earth that I’ll hand over my weapons. If Harris wants people to think she’s stupid, that’s her problem and it sure as heck isn’t mine. Have I made myself clear enough for Zyklon the understand that America will survive the attempted coup?”
“Yes, I truly think so. Thank you for believing in your country and not the despicable lies that spew from the mouths of the lowlife gutter-dwellers sho inhabit the swamps in the political landscape of your country.”
“Thank you, Henry, for being such a good friend and I hope you’ll come back soon. And with that we’ll be saying goodnight: Goodnight.
“Good show. Burger time: my treat.”
