(Jan. 30, 2026) — In an interview Friday evening on Fox News’s “Hannity,” Border “Czar” Tom Homan told host Sean Hannity the Trump administration has deported more than 700,000 illegal aliens since taking office on January 20, 2025.
A former police officer, Homan has worked in federal immigration-law enforcement for more than 30 years under both Democrat and Republican presidents.
The focus of “Operation Metro Surge” is on criminal illegals, Homan said. However, individuals accused of no other crime than crossing the border illegally are not exempt. “If you’re in the country illegally, you’re not off the table; we will find you and deport you, too,” Homan said.
In Minneapolis and other cities, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency has been assigned to apprehend “the worst of the worst” and remove them from the communities in which they have been residing. More than 12,000 have been removed from the state, the president said Saturday.
The administration’s policy of removing criminal illegals is exhibiting to the rest of the world that “there are consequences for violating our laws…for violating a judge’s order” by remaining in the country, Homan maintained.
On Thursday morning, Homan gave an 8:00 a.m. press conference from Minneapolis, where he was dispatched Monday evening to work with Gov. Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey after the death of a second protester by a federal agent in Minneapolis.
On January 7, Renée Good was killed while in her car, driving away from two Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents and toward a third. On January 24, Alex Pretti was killed by one or two Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents. Both were 37 years old.
Both shootings are under investigation by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), FBI and Justice Department.
Homan denied the administration is withdrawing resources from Minneapolis in light of the shootings or public pressure. “I’m staying until the problem is gone,” he told reporters Thursday.
Frey and Walz have stridently objected to ICE’s presence, telling the agents to depart under no uncertain terms. On Wednesday, Trump reported having spoken with each with what he said were positive results, but subsequent media interviews Walz and Frey conducted as well as social-media posts appeared to belie any impression either might have given to cooperate with the administration’s efforts.
As in Thursday’s presser, Homan told Hannity as many as 16 agents must be sent in to arrest one person in Minneapolis since local law enforcement has been directed not to assist federal agents. Their mission, Homan said, is to “protect the people of Minneapolis” and “make this country safe again.”

All well and good. Thank you Mr. Homan.
However, from day one as “Border Tzar” until recently, Mr. Homan repeatedly and emphatically proclaimed he would arrest and effect the prosecution of officials of sanctuary jurisdictions pursuant to Title 8 USC 1324 – Bringing in and harboring certain [illegal] aliens. As of yet NADA.
And 20,000,000 plus to go. Henry R.I.P. had a plan to do it all in 1 year, including the Muslims and anchor babies: make them an offer they can’t refuse.
It’s simple, easily understood and final so everyone* is sure to get the message.
[*As a side note, render the same fate to anyone who impedes ICE.]
Henry said, “if we want to save our country, then save it, no discussion, no debates, no anything; just do it or welcome Third World Cesspool status.”
And I agree.
