(Mar. 20, 2025) — Since late December a former “X” user’s accounts remain shuttered despite his sending two letters of appeal directly to the company’s CEO, Elon Musk.
Johannes Froebel-Parker, an art historian, author and columnist who had two X accounts, one of which he used to pay for advertising for his latest book on Anastasia Romanov, on Thursday morning provided the platform’s latest response after he attempted to log in as well as a signed receipt from the second certified letter he sent to Musk received back on Monday.
The first letter was sent on January 20, 2025, the signed receipt for which he received
Initially, the platform claimed as its reason for closure a vague issue with “authenticity” which Froebel-Parker found baffling given one of his account’s “verified” status, and the automated replies he received were repetitious, circular or dead ends.
As of February 8, however, Froebel-Parker noted a change in X’s online responses to his queries about the closed accounts, raising speculation that a human being was evaluating the case rather than artificial intelligence (AI).
Musk purchased X, then known as Twitter, in October 2022 for $44 billion the purpose of restoring the platform to a standard of “free speech.”
Both letters to Musk appear to have been signed by an individual with the last name of “Kennedy.”
To date, Froebel-Parker has received no response, and despite the human-to-human contact he has attempted to make, his accounts remain “suspended.”

While references to Froebel-Parker main account appear on X, they lead to a page indicating its suspension. “X suspends accounts which violate the X Rules,” it claims.
In an email to this writer on Wednesday, Froebel-Parker reported sending Musk a signed copy of the book he advertised on X just prior to the closure of his accounts and of also having appealed once again through online channels.
“Yesterday I sent a signed copy of Grand Duchess Anastasia: Still A Mystery?” he wrote. “Today, I decided to file yet another appeal, as I was going to mention the second letter and book. When one files an appeal an email comes almost immediately asking for more information. I checked just now, and nothing has arrived. I will check again later, but perhaps a real human is now investigating. I notice that today I AM allowed to ‘like’ others’ posts, although technically I am not supposed to be able to. I’ll keep my fingers crossed, but did want to keep you in the loop.”
He added he is “almost ready to release my unisex perfume based on the book and the Romanov Empire,” including a graphic of the upcoming release.
