“X” CEO Elon Musk now bills himself as “White House Tech Support,” perhaps from his appointment as coordinator of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). But is “tech support” adequate at X?

(Feb. 6, 2025) — On Sunday, The Post & Email followed up on a story which began in late December with X’s closure of two accounts belonging to longtime reader Johannes Froebel-Parker, an Upstate-New-York-based historian, “Trusted Art Seller,” former educator and author focusing on the Romanovs, the last Russian imperial family prior to the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution.

One of Froebel-Parker’s accounts was verified with a “blue check” and used to purchase advertising and a subscription to CEO Elon Musk’s posts on the platform, Froebel-Parker told The Post & Email at the outset.

He has appealed to X/Twitter “Support” on multiple occasions and, until very recently, received only what appear to be automated responses in two formats.

More specifically, X has responded to the appeals with either “Replies to this email will not be reviewed as this decision will not be reversed” or what at first appeared could have been genuine reconsideration of the suspensions:

We received your request to have your account reinstated.

Please respond to this email with the reason you believe your account suspension was in error and/or the reason you are requesting an appeal.

Once we receive your response, we will review and provide a follow up response with the outcome of our review. If this request is for an account reinstatement under our new criteria, please allow 3-5 days for us to review and respond. In some instances, it may take us longer to get back to you.

X’s only suggestion as to the reason for the account closures was proffered as questionable “authenticity.”

Out of frustration, on January 20 Froebel-Parker sent by certified mail a handwritten letter to Musk at X’s new headquarters in Bastrop, TX courteously detailing the issue and offering to send Musk a signed copy of his newest book, “Anastasia Again: the Hidden Secret of the Romanovs: Second Edition.”

Several days later, a return receipt indicated “an authorized recipient was not available” to provide a signature.

Undaunted, Froebel-Parker resolved to send a second certified letter without requiring a return receipt.

Earlier this week Froebel-Parker discovered his LinkedIn account was hacked when he noted an imposter’s photo and life narrative on his page. In a reply to one of X’s more lengthy boilerplate responses Tuesday, Froebel-Parker wrote he had “rectified” that problem, suggesting “perhaps THAT was part of the decision of your corporation”:

Please read article for detailed trajectory of my trying to engage X to review the suspension of my accounts, @Froebel and @449_518, for which I find no basis. My LinkedIn account was hacked by a Chinese national which I have now rectified, and perhaps THAT was part of the decision of your corporation. The same day, in a departure from its boilerplate emails, X replied:

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out about case 0384708638.

This case has been closed and we aren’t able to reopen it at this time, but we’d like to make sure you get the help you need. We encourage you to visit our Help Center or create a new case.

Thanks,

X

Froebel-Parker then sent to X and this writer:

The system says to CREATE A NEW CASE, but the answer is always the same. The System is unresponsive to dynamic correspondence. Please have a human check! https://www.thepostemail.com/2025/02/02/why-will-x-not-restore-this-account/

When The Post & Email suggested X’s responses could be ineffective due to their generation by AI, he responded:

I fully agree. Interesting to note that USUALLY they respond within minutes after an appeal with the standard, THIS ACCOUNT IS PERMANENTLY SUSPENDED and will not be reopened, etc, etc. But THIS TIME after they sent me an initial response somewhat different from the previous, they have NOT RESPONDED TODAY! Perhaps, after seeing SO MANY appeals and the links to various articles in THE POST EMAIL, they assigned a real person to review. The specter of LINKEDIN having been hacked at a time corresponding to their suspension may have been enough to take a second look! More soon! What an ADVENTURE and so pleased you are an important part of it!

Blessings!

Early Wednesday morning, Froebel-Parker received a response from X, to which he remarked, “Something new. Have never received this before. Hmm. Wanted to share.”

That response reads:

Hello,

Thanks for your report. It looks like this is connected with your original case # 0384715791, so we’ve added it to that first report.

We’ll continue our review with this information.

If you have more details you think we should know, please respond to this email to send them our way. We appreciate your help!

Thanks,

X Support

At 10:04 a.m. EST Thursday, Froebel-Parker observed that X did not immediately respond as it did before. “This is odd as they normally put the kabosh on any appeal I’ve made within minutes with the standard reply,” he wrote in an email. “This time NOTHING since yesterday. We shall see. Thank you for your interest!”

Why is anyone surprised at censorship and non-responsive corporations? It is practiced on the right, left, center, top, and bottom. It’s now part of the corporate/political culture. If you want to be frustrated in the information game, try getting a response to a FOIA inquiry.

The Individual gets lost in the bureaucracy! One case in point is an application some years ago for a state Non-profit status on a proposed organization. Finally, a response: Please rewrite and stipulate that you have NO plans to open an educational institution under the guise of this organization. OK, simple enough and never had plans to do it ever in any case. Once sent in, a few months went by and ANOTHER official wrote. Congratulations, you have been approved, “but your idea sounds marvelous, and YOU SHOULD CONSIDER OPENING AN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE under its auspices!” Go figure! :)
