(Nov. 22, 2024) — “Sugar Sugar” (2:47)
“Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to ‘The Pulse of the Nation,’ the place to hear it here first. Every day the news cycle keeps getting shorter; where it used to be 24 hours, now it’s down to half that. Matt Gaetz’s name being pulled from the ring of Attorney General hopefuls was a complete shock to us all, and to put it all in some kind of perspective is one of our favorite guests, none other than Professor Zorkophsky, best-selling author of psychiatric books for the layman psychologist. Welcome to ‘Pulse,’ the most-watched information show in its time slot.”
“Glad to be here, Roving, and thank you for inviting me to discuss such an important subject, that of Matt Gaetz bowing out of being part of the administration to destroy the Deep State.”
“Tell the truth, we thought about the General but we’re having him on to discuss the Secretary of Defense, all those who were involved in the disastrous Afghan withdrawal and those pushing DEI-wokeness insanity in our military.”
“Good choice.”
“Tell us about Trump and Gaetz, if you will.”
“Well, all I can say is what everyone else knows: Gaetz is O-U-T, and for good. Now if Gaetz has any political leverage left, that’s for others to say, but as far as I’m concerned, he burned all his bridges, and if he couldn’t stand the heat from the Fake News, well, what good is he? Yes, yes, I know, he was the poster child of what a Representative should be, but not now, is he?”
“No, I guess not.”
“Now, let me say from the start, we don’t know why he left; all we know is that he left. We can speculate for however long it takes for the cows to come home, or we can just accept the facts at face value. Was Gaetz dropping out planned from the start? Did Gaetz leave or was he asked to leave? Endless scenarios come to mind except one: Gaetz is out.”
“That part is true.”
“But there’s fallout from Gaetz pulling out.”
“Such as?”
“In Japan it’s called ‘losing face.’ The facts are irrelevant of the real reasons behind his departure, except to say that he’s out. Now, we were all overjoyed and supported Gaetz 110% when he was announced as our next AG. Finally, somebody with the backbone to go after the crooks, the Jan. 6 Committee and Merrick Garland and all the other lawbreakers. But not now. Trump loses face, too; can’t be helped; that’s just the way the world works, and it couldn’t happen at a worse time, on the brink of WWIII.”
“That bad?”
“I’m afraid so. Face it: it’s a sad day for MAGA, and that’s all I’ve got to say on the subject. Call it anyway you want, but face was lost today.”
“Did anybody win?”
“No, nobody won today; we all lost a little bit of Pixie Dust*. It happens. All I can say is we get back up and fight the next fight, hopefully with a better ending.”
“Sounds good and so, this is your Roving Reporter, along with Zork, wishing each of you a goodnight: Goodnight.
“Good show. Burger time: my treat.”
