“Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to ‘The Pulse of the Nation,’ the place to hear it here first. By popular demand, Rook Dunkin has blessed us once again with his divine presence. Welcome back, and have you heard anything about your promotion to Bishop?”
“Thank you, Roving, for such an informative and uplifting introduction. No, I haven’t heard a peep about my, hopefully soon, upcoming promotion. Now I know you’ve a lot of questions so let’s get down to brass tacks and start the interrogation — oh, so sorry, I mean let’s start the interview.”
“You’re not fooling anybody, Rook Dunkin; you’re here to hawk your new book, ‘Who Killed Christ?’ First, what kind of book is it? Is it a suspense novel; maybe it’s a mystery?”
“No, it’s none of those, nothing so glamorous. It is just a thought process put to print. You see, we human beings haven’t so-called evolved as much as we like to think we have. We’re just as vicious and selfish as we were ten thousand years ago. The key to survival is communication. Sometime in the past there was no word for ‘freedom’ simply because there used to be benevolent dictators.”
“Yes, we know the story of sin and Adam and Eve expelled from Eden.”
“And before then there was no word for ‘sin.’ There was no Communism and Socialism but there was a word for ‘Cooperationism.’ Suffice it to say that it would be nice if the reader had a little more than a passing knowledge of Anthropology.”
“Really, now? Do tell.”
“Let me put it so even you can understand, Roving. Life is not a game and people are not pawns, unless you’re a Neanderthal – or a Dem — then it’s control, control, control. Then it’s either Islam or the CCP; take your pick: either way is the opposite of free speech, free thought, and a lifetime of being trapped in a mental cage with no way out. I apologize for using the word ‘Neanderthal’ instead of ‘stupid’ and ‘ignorant.’”
“So, who did you write the book for?”
“For people who can think for themselves, that’s who. No RAV TV and no CNN. Sure, you get some truth, but I wouldn’t bank on it, understand?”
“I think we’re beginning to.”
“The truth of the matter is that they kill people they consider a threat; it’s that simple. If you’re alive it’s only because you’re not a threat yet. In the 1960s if they thought Bob Dylan was a threat, he would have been dead way back then. Oh, sure, he wrote all kinds of popular anti-war songs, but so what?”
“So, who killed The Christ; who killed Jesus?”
“The same enemy we have today: Satan* goes by many names: Barry Soetoro, aka Obama; Biden; Pelosi; Schumer; McConnell; the Deep State; take your pick.”
“Sounds like a very intellectual concept, that history progresses through language.”
“And we have the Vaxxed and the Un-Vaxxed, or Clean and Healthy. The Vaxxed are living under a death sentence, and they feel that all people should do the same.”
“Not me.”
“Yes, not me, either, which is why we embrace our Second Amendment, isn’t it?”
“Yes. They had the movie Avatar on the other night. What to think? Think strip-mining in Eastern Tennessee, Kentucky, West Virginia and out West. Insanity is catching if you’re not paying attention.”
“Well, it sounds like a really good book and I’m sure it’ll do very well wherever good books are sold. I see you brought a copy. For me? Thank you. And the introduction was written by Professor ‘Trash the Masks’ Zorkophsky. Very good. That’ll do it for this episode of ‘Pulse,’ the most-watched information show in its time slot. Goodnight.
