(Nov. 7, 2022) — On Wednesday, U.S. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy and RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel attended an event for Dutchess County, NY executive Marc Molinaro, who is seeking a seat in Congress on Tuesday.

Aiello’s Restaurant in Whitney Point, Broome County, hosted the event.

When he was 18, Molinaro was elected mayor of Tivoli, NY as the youngest candidate ever to win such an election. He is currently running for the U.S. House in New York’s 19th Congressional District, which was recently redrawn and spans the Catskill Mountains and Hudson Valley.

Molinaro has additionally served as a state representative and is currently Dutchess County executive, a post he has held for the last decade.

In August, Pat Ryan (D) defeated Molinaro in a special election held after Antonio Delgado resigned to become New York Gov. Kathy Hochul’s lieutenant governor. However, on Tuesday he faces Democrat Josh Riley due to the newly-drawn 18th and 19th districts; Ryan will now compete in the 18th Congressional District.

According to the individual who took the photos, Corltand County Committee Chair Connie Adams White, “We found out the Friday before the Wednesday event that Leader McCarthy was coming in support of Congressional Candidate Marc Molinaro.”

“Marc is the Dutchess County Executive and he had a Public Hearing scheduled (in his county) for the same night that McCarthy planned to come,” White added. “Yikes!!!  So the event was early enough for both things to happen.  He zoomed his presence at the public hearing.  We did not know that Ronna would be with him until that day!!”
