(Sep. 28, 2022) — The DEVGRU TRIBUTE VIDEO featured at right has an alternate title, “Remember (I.O.U.)” and is performed by a Florida Christian band, “Big Dismal.”  It is a STIRRING tribute to Navy SEAL Team Six.

On the night of August 6, 2011, a Chinook passenger helicopter, Code Name “Extortion 17,” was on patrol or a special ops mission of some sort in Afghanistan when it was shot down and became a “Fallen Angel” by a single Taliban terrorist on the ground using a hand-held anti-aircraft missile launcher.  Seventeen of the 30 total passengers were SEAL Team Six special ops Naval forces personnel (some of the others on board, it is noted, were Afghan passengers).  Everyone, including a special ops warrior dog, was killed instantly in a fiery explosion.  At that time, it was said to be the “deadliest day in recent American history.”  It is pointed out that some of the same SEAL Team Six fighters were among those who, three months earlier on May 2, 2011, carried out an attack on the bin Laden compound in Pakistan and allegedly shot and killed al-Qaeda leader and 911 terrorist mastermind, Osama bin Laden.

DEVGRU is an acronym for “Naval Special Warfare Development Group,” abbreviated DEVelopment GRoUp, more commonly known as SEAL TEAM SIX.  Many controversies surround the killing of these brave men in Afghanistan that night eleven years ago.  This writing, however, has a greater purpose, i.e., TO HONOR AND PAY TRIBUTE TO OUR NAVAL SPECIAL OPS PERSONNEL AND SEAL TEAM SIX IN PARTICULAR.

  1. As a former Special Forces soldier I understand the significance of this article!!!!! Special Ops individuals are very highly trained and begin with attributes not everyone has!!!!! The selection process is very rigorous and selective!!!!! I was among 2444 that applied in July, 1969. 76 were accepted, and 3 of us completed the 6 month training process!!!!! That is less than 1% (.012%)of applicants successfully completing the process!!!!! I don’t know how anything can be more difficult to be a part of!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Great stuff, Bob68. I read it all, including the newsman’s interview of the next-door neighbor to bin Laden’s compound. The neighbor alleged in the interview that the ONE helicopter which landed there subsequently exploded without anyone getting out dead or alive. I’ve got to admit, of course, I do not know the truth. Someone, though, who claims to have been there and witnessed what happened, or heard about it, is a liar. As Obama, who has a habit of dissembling, was president/commander-in-chief, I do not believe that Americans were ever told the TRUTH. Whether or not the “other side” or Pakistani witnesses on the ground told the truth, I am inclined to believe that they did. What would that say about Obama? THE SAME THING I’VE ALWAYS BEEN SAYING ABOUT HIM! HE (and a large number of c0-conspirators, mostly in our own government) HAVE COMMITTED TREASON.

  3. The SEALs were ambushed. They were supposed to have two helicopters with them for protection and did not. And they were in the wrong type of helicopter. These people were murdered and, as expected, the effeminate Obama did nothing about it.

They also did not kill bin Laden. According to the Pakistan Observer, Dec. 2001 edition, bin Laden died of kidney related disease on Dec. 6, 2001. The theatrical show in 2011 was to boost Obama’s sagging poll numbers. Someone was killed and dumped from the USS Carl Vinson but it was not bin Laden.

  4. Robert O’Neil stayed home on this one. He now is no longer in the military.
He is employed by one of the news networks. Barack Obama, Leon Panetta, and Jason Chaffetz were never held accountable, whether or not they should have been. Law suits, if I’m not mistaken, are still pending, and some or all of them are being handled by Larry Klayman, attorney and founder of Freedom Watch. Sorry to “cheapen” the Tribute to Seal Team Six and our military with these facts (if that’s what you think I did, as it was not my intention). Tom Arnold.
