(Sep. 14, 2022) — A newsletter issued Wednesday morning reports that America’s Frontline Doctors (AFLDS) founder Dr. Simone Gold has been released from prison.
The announcement, which is accompanied by a photo of Dr. Gold being greeted by Rep. Louis Gohmert (R-TX1) upon her release, begins:
Today we thank God that Dr. Simone Gold, the founder of America’s Frontline Doctors, has been released from prison!
Wrongfully convicted of a crime she didn’t commit, Dr. Gold went to prison because she dared to stand up against mis-information, Big Pharma, and the Biden Administration.
While in prison, Dr. Gold was shamefully quarantined with eight days of solitary confinement because she refused to take the Covid-19 jab.
Both a physician and an attorney, Dr. Gold and AFLDS advocated early in the COVID-19 “pandemic” for a different approach than that which was pursued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) via lockdowns, mask mandates, and later, the promotion of a sole solution to the virus in the form of hastily-produced mRNA “vaccines.”
AFLDS bills itself as “the nation’s premier Civil Liberties Organization.”
On January 6, 2021, Gold was scheduled to speak at the rally held at the Ellipse in Washington, DC. On June 16, AFLDS issued a press release reporting the circumstances of Gold’s arrest and prosecution:
Washington, D.C, Six months after America’s Frontline Doctors’ viral video of their press conference on the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court on July 27, 2020, Founder Dr. Simone Gold traveled to a free speech rally in Washington, D.C., to speak on January 6, 2021.
In the months between the press conference and January 6th, Dr. Gold was asked to present publicly on numerous occasions about physicians’ free speech and her experience of being fired for prescribing early treatment to Covid-19 patients.
By this time, she had also founded America’s Frontline Doctors, a division of the Free Speech Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization. Dr. Gold was scheduled to speak on January 6th alongside numerous other presenters after President Trump’s appearance at the rally, which had a government approved permit. At her expected start time, Dr. Gold was then told all speeches were suddenly canceled without explanation. Upon hearing this, Dr. Gold was amongst thousands swept into the Capitol building when the doors were opened from the inside, with law enforcement officers ushering people in. While there, Dr. Gold realized it was the only remaining moment to deliver her message to those who came to hear it, and so she gave her remarks there. When an officer instructed her to move towards an exit, she complied, and shortly after when asked to leave the building entirely, she did so.
Dr. Gold received a SWAT visit from the FBI, she later reported, and spent a short time in jail thereafter. In a subsequent press release, Dr. Gold announced she had taken a plea deal for the misdemeanor of “trespassing”; at sentencing she received 60 days in federal prison and a $9,500 fine.
“I served a federal prison term for a non-violent misdemeanor trespassing charge with no prior record—making me the first woman in history to do so,” Dr. Gold is quoted as having said upon her release. “My conviction and sentencing were completely out of line. It made a mockery of justice. I was made an example. This was a political hit.”
Newsletters received by this writer during Gold’s incarceration in southern Florida indicated her appreciation of the letters and cards she received from members of the public as well as her observation of the harsh conditions around her.
On his House website, Gohmert issued a press release on Gold’s release, which took place on Friday. “Rep. Louie Gohmert (TX-01) joined Dr. Simone Gold today as she was released from federal prison after she was unjustly prosecuted by the Biden Administration’s Department of Justice,” the press release begins. “He also presented her with a flag which was flown over the U.S. Capitol to celebrate her invaluable work and contributions to public health, medical freedom and our God-given constitutional rights.”
Gohmert’s commentary on Gold’s incarceration reads as follows:
Dr. Gold is a patriot and an American hero. In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, she exposed the world to life-saving early treatment options that undoubtedly saved many lives. Tragically, her sound medical advice was viciously attacked and suppressed by a corrupt media captured by pharmaceutical companies with a clear financial agenda.
After having her name and reputation shamefully dragged through the mud, the Biden administration’s DOJ threw her in prison for peacefully walking into the U.S. Capitol on January 6and delivering a speech. Dr. Gold is the definition of what a political prisoner looks like—something I never thought I’d see here in the United States of America.
God Bless Dr. Gold. History will not look kindly upon those who persecuted—and prosecuted—doctors who spoke out against the COVID lockdown, mask and vaccine mandates.”
