This issue was addressed recently by your humble servant, but in the context of race-baiter Al Sharpton’s threat against both Senator Manchin as well as Senator Kyrsten Sinema (D. AZ.) to either “straighten-up-and-goose-step-right” or face being slandered as “supporting racism.” The rest of this post may make more sense if readers go back and peruse the Sharpton offering.
Back already? OK, let us proceed.
To begin with, Sharpton is not a member of Congress, but James T. Clyburn is. As the Majority Whip in the House, he ranks behind only Speaker Nancy (“I-left-my-brain-in-San-Crapcisco”) Pelosi and House Majority Leader Steny (“How-high-did-you-tell-me-to-jump-Nancy?”) Hoyer. Clyburn is credited in some quarters as propelling the Goofball-in-Chief into the Oval Office by reinvigorating Slow Joe’s moribund 2020 campaign in the South Carolina primary. Translation: Clyburn is a powerful politician, but an intellectual giant… not so much.
Second, Clyburn asserts here and in his HuffPo interview that unless Manchin abandons his opposition to elimination of the filibuster so that S. 1 – the more accurately labeled “Permanent Democrat Ruling Dynasty Act of Forever” – can be crammed down the nation’s throat, then the Democrat Party will “pay the biggest price it has ever paid at the polls” in the 2022 midterm elections.
Think about that for a minute…, let it sink in. The third-ranking member of the House Democrats has just made an amazing confession: unless the preemption and “lockdown” of state election law constitutional prerogatives is enacted into federal law before 2022, the electorate will likely boot them out of office after awakening to the fact that, indeed, the 2020 general election just might have actually been stolen. Yikes! Can’t have that potential raise its ugly head, can we?
The state laws which would be impacted, invalidated or preempted by S. 1 or H.R. 1 would include those requiring positive voter identification; those governing the accuracy of voter registration lists – the proposed law requiring states to automatically register all individuals (as opposed to “citizens”) from state and federal databases, thereby including as “eligible voters” millions of illegal aliens –; those forbidding the counting of votes or ballots cast by voters outside of their assigned precincts; etc., etc., etc. The extended list of the outrages of H.R. 1 and its Senate clone, S. 1, is summarized here.
Translation: that intellectual giant – the House Whip generally acknowledged as having resuscitated the campaign of the septuagenarian marionette who now allows, after invitation, thousands upon thousands of illegal aliens to swarm unchecked over the southern border, including toddlers being callously and abusively dropped over the border wall – has made a stunning admission.
Specifically, Clyburn now confesses that, unless H.R. 1 or S. 1 can hurdle the filibuster to become “the law of the land” in order that the election “irregularities” and “anomalies” which allowed the Goofball-in-Chief to “win” in 2020 are perpetuated and that states are prevented from eliminating or at minimum moderating them, as Georgia has now done, the Democrat Party will “pay the biggest price it has ever paid at the polls” in 2022.
Got that, Manchin? Got that, Sinema? Unless you goose-step to the party narrative and get H.R. 1 or S. 1 to the Goofball’s desk in the Oval Office – and assuming someone is there directing him to the signature line – the Democrats will be, to use the colloquial vernacular term, “S.O.L.” Simply outta luck. Never mind that the filibuster might just be the mechanism that saves the Republic, Clyburn whines that he is “insulted” by Manchin’s resistance. Sharpton hisses that unless Manchin and Sinema toe the line, he will slander them as “supporting racism.” Democrat collegiality on full display.
These folks are insane. They are in the vanguard of the inmates preparing to turn the Republic into an asylum they alone deem themselves fit to run.
After these mindless (and by that, your humble servant means “stupid” and “dangerous”) attacks on Senators Manchin and Sinema, the question must again be posed: why do Manchin and Sinema remain Democrats? They are being threatened and verbally spat upon by dunces of their own party.
As intimated here, and on the assumption that there remains in both Senator Manchin and Senator Sinema a core patriotic devotion to country over a party which grows more totalitarian and despotic with every passing hour, the day may fast be approaching when they decide to dance to the…, for want of a better term, let us call it for now the “Reagan Rumba”…, by switching political parties. That would fix a lot of things…, before 2022.
Hey, Ronald Reagan, once a card-carrying Democrat, burned the card, became a Republican, never looked back and went on to become one of the nation’s greatest presidents. Unlike some others who could be mentioned.
Finally, in passing, recall the observation rumored to have been made by Winston Churchill: “Any man [or woman] under 30 who is not a liberal has no heart; and any man [or woman] over thirty who is not a conservative has no brains.” Al Sharpton is 66. Jim Clyburn is 80. The Goofball-in-Chief is 78.
