JOBS GAINS ON LABOR DAY
by Sharon Rondeau
(Sep. 7, 2020) — President Trump will be holding a 1:00 PM EDT Labor Day news conference, he tweeted late Monday morning.
In a slightly later tweet, he touted the millions of jobs gained since the month of May, when the U.S. economy began reopening following the arrival of the coronavirus and its substantial shutdown of American businesses.
According to Mark Knoller of CBS News, the presser will be held in a somewhat unusual location, the North Portico of the White House.
The White House Museum organization describes the North Portico as “the president’s front door.” It was added to the existing structure in 1830.
