“THE COMMON GOOD” VS. INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS

The media-generated fear of spreading COVID-19 has provided necessary cover for the nation’s tyrants to restrict and suppress individual liberty in violation of the Constitution.
In the video clip below, Dr. Lee Merritt, a practicing orthopedic surgeon in Omaha, Nebraska, points out that there’s no freedom that can’t be restricted or liberty that can’t be suppressed on the basis of safety.
“There’s nothing you cannot restrict on the basis of safety, and that’s a scary thing. … I don’t have the right to force you to have my surgery. You don’t have the right to force me to have your medical treatment. It’s just that simple.” – Dr. Lee Merritt
People who worry about their personal safety can always argue from the position that public safety benefits everyone; therefore, the rights of the individual must be tempered or even relinquished for the sake of the common good.

People who argue the common good trumps the rights of the individual have turned the Constitution on its head and the Founders over in their graves.

The political ruling class ignore the Constitution to enhance their own wealth and power. Most voters have no idea what the Constitution even says or means because it isn’t taught, even in law school, and hasn’t been for decades. The Bible says, “My people perish for lack of knowledge”. That applies to Scripture AND the Constitution. I carry a copy around with me and read it often. I refuse to surrender any of my rights for “the greater good”, which is a scam used to enslave We the People.
