So, it’s an incredible opportunity for students who are willing to polish their skills in a perfectly suitable environment.
TOEFL test questions
The TOEFL test comes in two different formats including TOEFL iBT (Internet Based Test) and TOEFL PBT (Paper-based Test). Based on their country/location, the candidates need to submit 180 USD to 300 USD for the registration.
We’ve discussed before that TOEFL test measures your English proficiency in four different areas such as:
The Reading test consists of 36-56 questions that are taken from 3 or 4 passages included in the test. The examiners take these passages from the academic texts and the candidates need to answer the questions within 60-80 minutes.
During the Listening test, the candidates listen to the lectures and classroom discussions. Then, they are asked to answer 34-51 questions related to this material. The duration of the listening test is 60-90 minutes.
After the Reading and Listening test, the examiner will provide you with a 10-minute break so you may prepare for the next two tests. Once the break is over, the Speaking session starts. The Speaking test consists of 6 tasks that are related to listening and reading tasks. The candidates need to share their opinions about these topics within 20 minutes.
Similarly, the Writing test consists of 2 tasks where the candidates need to share their response about reading and listening tasks. The duration of the Writing task is 50 minutes. It means you’d get enough time to express your opinion in a clear and concise way.
So, the total time required for the Prepaway TOEFL test is somewhere between 4-4.5 hours. The candidates must come prepared for the exam as they need to achieve at least 61 marks out of 120 in order to pass the test. However, the passing score may vary depending on the requirements of your preferred college or university. TOEFL score remains valid for around two years. The candidates are supposed to retake the exam after two years if they want to join an institute.
