(Sep. 6, 2018) — 9:36 a.m. — Fox News’s Shannon Bream, who covers the U.S. Supreme Court for the channel, reported that groups of “protesters” have “taken over” the Senate office of Senate Judiciary Chairman Charles Grassley with the intention of shutting down the hearings on Supreme Court nominee Brett M. Kavanaugh.

Thursday is the third day of hearings, which were marked by loud, strident and freuent interruptions by protesters on Tuesday and Wednesday, a federal felony punishable by up to six months in prison.

At 9:40, Grassley opened the session without referring to any disturbance in his office or elsewhere.

Bream said that video of the incident was being sought.

This is a developing story.
