“TRY TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER RIGHT NOW”
by Sharon Rondeau
(Aug. 26, 2017) — It was a time for growing, learning, and finding out about the world.
And in that discovery, finding that all was not well with humanity.
It was a tempestuous time with the backdrop of the Vietnam War.
But it was also a time when “rock” music was still music, and the words carried a meaningful message.
The profanities and vulgarities of today were not even a thought if the musician wished to deliver that message effectively.
It was a time when the suggestion to thousands and thousands of people was, “Come on, people, now, smile on your brother, everybody get together; try to love one another right now.”
Why would that not work in today’s America?
The message is still out there.
Obama and Eric Holder killed the dream.
