TTCC Inmate’s Relative: “The Guards Beat Up My Son”

by Sharon Rondeau

(Dec. 9, 2016) — In response to an article published in June regarding the now-infamous Trousdale Turner Correctional Center (TTCC) in Hartsville, TN, the following comment was submitted from an inmate’s relative on Friday morning:

My son was finally transfered out of TrousdaleTurner Thank god but we have not recovered the money for a stolen tvand other items also we found out an investigator that was working my sons case before court he was turned down and not allowed to see my son odd it was the day after the guards beat up my son blacked his eye and chopped his tooth it could have made a difference in my sons case we will never know TrousdaleTurner is a nightmare and I pray for any family that has a loved one there

Several weeks ago, The Post & Email spoke with the relative and immediately upon seeing the comment this morning, sent it to Tennessee Department of Correction s (TDOC) Communications Director Neysa Taylor.

Although privately-operated by CoreCivic, formerly Corrections Corporation of America (CCA), Taylor told The Post & Email in August that the TDOC maintains a presence in the facility “frequently, weekly, almost daily.  There’s an on-site monitor who’s on-site there daily.”  Taylor additionally claimed that the myriad of reports we have received over the last seven months alleging inmate abuse, poor food, unrestricted gang activity, almost-continuous lockdown conditions, and lack of medical care are “inaccurate.”

The comment is published under the article titled, “Report: Trousdale CCA Prison Taking “Most Dangerous Inmates.”
