Is it Not an “Outrage” that the Forgery on the White House Website Has Not Been Investigated?

“NO CONSEQUENCES FOR DEFRAUDING THE LEGISLATURE”

(Nov. 12, 2016) — In an email dated July 31, 2009 released by WikiLeaks, Ilyse G. Hogue, then-Director of Political Advocacy and Communications at the George Soros-funded moveon.org, forwarded a solicitation to “NBerning” (Nick Berning) at Friends of the Earth (FOE) generated by Justin Ruben of MoveOn.org Political Action which chastised “a special interest lobbying firm with ties to dirty energy companies and the Republican National Committee” for allegedly “sending forged letters to Congressman Tom Perriello’s office, urging him to oppose clean energy legislation.”

At that time, the Waxman-Markey “Cap-and-Trade” legislation was under consideration by the 111th Congress, although it ultimately failed to pass the Senate.  Markey, then a U.S. representative from Massachusetts and strong advocate for “environmental protection,” is now a U.S. Senator for the Commonwealth, elected in a special election in June 2013 after then-Sen. John Kerry became Obama’s Secretary of State.

Perriello, also a strong proponent of “clean” energy initiatives, served one term in the House of Representatives but was defeated in the 2010 midterm elections.

The forwarded notice included the reproduction of an article posted the same day at FOE reporting the discovery of the fraudulent letters.  A link to the source article in the Charlottesville Daily Progress now leads to an error message.

The letters faxed to Perriello utilized the respective letterheads of two organizations and expressed opposition to the cap-and-trade bill.  The organizations reported that they did not send the letters and did not oppose the proposed legislation.  It was shortly thereafter determined that an employee of a company named Bonner & Associates had created the letters.

At the time, Berning, FOE’s Public Advocacy Director, decried the forgeries by stating, “The fossil fuel industry doesn’t just play dirty with the climate, it plays dirty when it comes to our democracy. It will stop at nothing when it comes to putting corporate profits over health, jobs, the environment, and even plain old ethics. This is an outrage.”

The solicitation indicated that Markey had launched an investigation into the forged letters and requested the constituents of then-Rep. Rodney Alexander to request that he support Markey in the endeavor.

In an August 18, 2009 Roll Call article, it was reported that in addition to the first two letters, Markey “has uncovered five more forged letters as part of his investigation into fraudulent correspondence sent by Bonner & Associates on behalf of the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity opposing the House climate change bill.”

According to SourceWatch, Bonner & Associates is or was a lobbying firm reportedly advocating for the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity (ACCCE), which supports “coal-based electricity.”

Bonner & Associates might no longer be in existence, but its founder, Jack Bonner, told The Washington Post at the time that his firm uncovered the forged letters internally and immediately fired the “temporary” employee responsible.

It is unclear if any criminal charges were filed.

In a May 25, 2011 interview wherein MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow spoke with Markey about the forged letters, Maddow raised the issue of “defrauding Congress” while Markey’,s responses focused on the status of the cap-and-trade proposal.

The Huffington Post article featuring the Markey-Maddow exchange concluded with, “Well, it stands to reason that this sort of legislative subversion will continue, forever, if there are no consequences for defrauding the legislature.”

The federal “legislature” is the Congress.

On April 27, 2011, an image purported to be a scan of a certified copy of the long-form birth certificate of the sitting president of the United States was posted at whitehouse.gov followed by a press conference by Obama himself, who claimed that the image “provided additional information today about the site of my birth.”

Almost immediately, experts came forward to state and explain why they believed that the image was fraudulent, with no response from Congress.

Less than a year later, Maricopa County Sheriff Joseph M. Arpaio, who had commissioned an investigation into the image at the request of 242 of his constituents, and his lead investigator, Mike Zullo, gave the first of two press conferences in which they declared the long-form birth certificate image to be a “computer-generated forgery.”

In addition, the investigative team, Arpaio’s “Cold Case Posse,” had found that Obama’s purported Selective Service registration form had been created, or forged, from a “hard copy” apparently belonging to someone else.

Neither Congress nor the media launched an investigation following the release of the revelations.

On July 17, 2012, Arpaio and Zullo held a second presser, revealing more details as to how the posse reached its conclusions and ultimately calling upon Congress to launch an investigation into their findings.

Congress provided no response, and the FBI, though aware of the posse’s conclusions, took no action. The mainstream media failed to broadcast the posse’s findings widely or to investigate them independently, and Obama was re-elected to a second four-year term in November 2012.

In 2013, Rep. Jeff Miller reneged on a pledge to meet with Zullo following Zullo’s visit to CPAC to show current and former members of Congress some of the evidence the posse had amassed.  Former Rep. Steve Stockman also failed to come forward with his promised support of the Cold Case Posse’s investigation.

In an interview on Thursday with Carl Gallups of PPSimmons News & Ministry Network (PNN), Zullo told Gallups that additional revelations gleaned from the investigation, now spanning more than five years, will be released before January 1, when Arpaio leaves office.  One of Zullo’s observations was that the media has willingly participated in an effort to “float the narrative” of Obama’s purported life story.

Some in the media have connected questions about Obama’s origins and life story with “racism” despite print reports in existence before Obama sought the presidency that he was born outside of the United States.  Some reports were altered once Obama declared himself a presidential candidate to say that he was born in Hawaii, not Kenya or Indonesia.

During the joint session of Congress in January 2009 and again in January 2013 following Obama’s re-election, Congress had the constitutional authority to lodge an “objection” to the counting of the electoral votes cast during the respective meetings of the Electoral College following each election.  An objection, if sustained by a member of the other congressional chamber, could have facilitated the request of documentation from Obama to prove that he met the eligibility criteria of the nation’s chief executive as stated in Article II, Section 1, clause 5 of the U.S. Constitution.  That clause reads:

No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States.

Zullo has stated that the forging of a government document is “a federal felony,” yet no one has been prosecuted, as Congress neither investigated nor issued a subpoena for information relating to either of the forgeries the posse states have been created in Obama’s name.

In what could be seen as an ironic twist, the only individual who was able to focus major media attention on Obama’s lack of documentation beginning in 2011 is now the president-elect, Donald J. Trump.

In affirmation of Zullo’s statements during the interview, Gallups responded, “That birth certificate is a fraudulent fabrication. You’re saying…that you guys are getting ready to bring it forth.  We’ve got the alternative media, which has become more powerful than the mainstream.  Now it’s getting ready to be brought forward…and we’ll see what a Trump Congress and a Trump presidency and a Trump DOJ and a Trump FBI does with it.”
