OUR GOVERNMENT WILL NOT PROTECT US…SO WHO WILL?

(Apr. 23, 2015) — Once upon a time, in a land far away, I found myself in what would be considered a classic defensive position. In a ruse that I was volunteered for, we few young bucks at 20 years of age, give or take a couple of months, found ourselves in the middle of nowhere. Not only had we not a clue where we were, but we were also fairly convinced no one else knew except, of course, that bunch out there just inside the tree line shooting at us.

We were pinned down with nowhere to go, and our only saving grace was that the sun was going down, fast. Great, a few hours of life left before we were to be finished off come sun-up. So me, being the commander in charge through attrition and others being incapacitated for one reason or another, decided that, as long as we’re going to die anyway, let’s make the most of the time that we had left and attack.

“What, are you crazy?” and “Who made you in charge?” to which I replied, “No, and just do it.” Well, the fact that I’m sitting here typing away attests to the correct decision having been made. From what everyone else would see as a “sit-around-and-wait-for-them” position, we turned the tables on the bad guys and ended up attacking them. It was very unfair, of course. They were so confident of their upcoming victory that they didn’t even bother with accepted normal camp discipline while out on maneuvers. In other words, they posted no sentries to speak of, and those who were posted were asleep.

Which brings us full circle to our SECOND Amendment: the citizen’s right to be armed to the teeth. Everyone talks about how nice it is to be able to defend yourself. Yes, it is nice, there’s no down-side for people being able to uphold their end of being responsible gun owners.

But, we must remember, there are two sides to every conflict. Had England upheld her treaties with Poland and Czechoslovakia in the 1930s, World War II with Germany would have been averted. It’s the classic example of force being used in a proactive manner in order to save lives instead of appeasement through a slick public-relations catch phrase: Peace for Our Time.

The same is happening now, in our own time: “Hope” and “Change.” These are seemingly meaningless words except to dull the senses, to make a sleeping populace even more comatose (if that’s possible) in order to accept Obamacare, the DHS, IRS, and all the other disasters befalling the taxpayer, notwithstanding “Stimulus” money that was used to buy kickbacks and bribes to shore up the current regime bent on destroying America.

You’d have to have been living on Europa, one of Jupiter’s 67 moons, for the past six years not to realize that there are millions of illegal immigrants from all over the world who are very bad people: murderers, pedophiles, rapists, home invaders, you name it; it’s already on the list, check and checked again and again. How many thousands of Americans have to be murdered by strangulation, knife, gun, automobile before we get with the deportation program? How many of our children have to be molested, tortured and murdered before we get with the deportation program?

How many times are we going to let our politicians tell us about “Dream Acts” and “Amnesty” until we “Boo” them down? Until we vote them out of office? Hillary is “pro-illegal immigration,” pro-“Dream Act” and was instrumental in importing hundreds of thousands of Somalians and other Muslims into our country.

So here’s the point: when you decide to be a true Patriot and that you are going to do your fair share in defending your country against the forces of stupidity and evil, buy a shotgun and handgun for defense and an assortment of scoped rifles for offense.
