New Edict Exempts Some Americans from Obamacare Individual Mandate

Is Barack Hussein Obama running a real-life Animal Farm?

(Dec. 19, 2013) — The totalitarian Obama regime, which changes “law” at its whim depending on what it perceives as advantageous or face-saving at the time, has issued an “exemption” to the millions of individuals whose health care plans were canceled as a result of the “new standards” put in place by the health care law known as Obamacare.

Rather than ask Congress to amend the law, Obama has made his own “laws” by flouting the U.S. Constitution, as affirmed by several federal judges over the last year and particularly over the last week.

In July, Obama announced that the employer mandate would not take effect until 2015 without consulting Congress, which constitutionally is responsible for making law.

The U.S. Supreme Court upheld the individual mandate as constitutional in June of last year, allowing the implementation of the law to continue, with the individual mandate enrollment period beginning on October 1.

Both before and after the law was signed in March 2010, Obama had told the public, “If you like your health care plan, you can keep it.”

However, the federal health care website,, is substandard, riddled with technical problems, data insecurity and non-payment to insurance companies.  The site has cost taxpayers approximately $1 billion to build and an unknown amount to repair.

At the end of October, Obama had said that it would take about “a month” to make the necessary changes, while PBS reported that the regime had only “a few weeks” to make the necessary fixes in order to obtain enough enrollments to ensure “the success of the health law.”

On Tuesday, The Huffington Post gushed that “things seem to be running more smoothly now, if still not perfectly,” while on the same day, CNN reported that “Private health insurance exchanges still are not able to directly enroll consumers in subsidized health plans offered through Obamacare even though the government has said problems doing so should have been cleared up weeks ago.”

When news of the millions of plans canceled because of Obamacare were made public, Obama told such consumers to “shop around” for a new, “affordable” plan, despite its dysfunction and unreliability.

On Thursday, Obama’s Health and Human Services Secretary, Kathleen Sebelius, declared that those affected by plan cancellations could purchase catastrophic plans previously “restricted” to young people and special circumstances.  Later on Thursday, the regime declared that “those with canceled policies will be exempt from Obamacare’s penalty for not buying insurance.”

Everyone else is still “mandated” to buy insurance or face a fine levied by Obama’s IRS, which is known by some as his “goon squad.”  In true Orwellian fashion, the IRS has indicated it will investigate several consumers who have lost their health care plans and since spoken out to the media.

Some who have lost their insurance because their plans did not meet Obamacare “standards” have serious illnesses and face termination of their treatments, including young children.

On December 6, The Los Angeles Times reported that insurance companies are remaining “obedient” to Obama’s edicts because of the “promise of profits.”

Four of 15 state health care exchange directors have “lost their jobs” over the troubled rollout of the law.

On Thursday, Sen. Ted Cruz told Sean Hannity that Obamacare is “hurting millions of people” (2:51) and “sold to the American people under false pretenses.”

In George Orwell’s Animal Farm, the pigs issued new edicts and propaganda to maintain and increase their power over the other animals.  Dissenters were destroyed with the contention that “iron discipline” was needed to keep their former masters, humans, away.  Finally, the pigs changed the original Seventh Commandment, which had read:

All animals are equal

All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.
