Update: What Will Testimony About the Benghazi Tragedy Show About Obama and His State Department?

WHEN CAN IT BE TERMED “TREASON?”

(Oct. 9, 2012) — A hearing on the September 11 attack on the U.S. Embassy in Benghazi, Libya to be conducted by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee will include testimony from four witnesses, three of whom are employed by the State Department, which oversees United States consulates around the world.

Initially Obama, Hillary Clinton and U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice insisted that attacks in Benghazi and Cairo, Egypt on September 11, 2012 were a result of anger over an anti-Islamic video produced at least two months prior.  In widely-televised interviews on September 16, Rice stated that the “protection of American security personnel” is the United States’ “top priority.”

However, U.S. security personnel working in Libya prior to the September 11 attack have told a different story.  Lt. Col. Andrew Wood, who will be testifying on Wednesday, said that he and Amb. Christopher Stevens, who was killed in the Benghazi attack, his body dragged through the streets, both “pleaded” with the State Department for a higher level of security. Wood said that he and others were told to “do with less” and that the State Department “was working on” strengthening the security at the embassy.

Members of Congress receiving intelligence briefings contradicted Rice’s assertions early into the investigation.  After Reps. Darrell Issa and Jason Chaffetz of the Oversight Committee wrote a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton about the reported requests for more security which were denied, Clinton responded that her department is “looking for ways to prevent it [the deadly attacks] from happening again.”

Rice told reporters that two former Navy SEALS stationed some distance away from the Benhazi embassy were “providing security,” a contention supported by a report by CNN on September 23, but her statement was refuted by reports given to NBC News by those serving in Libya at the time.  In fact, the State Department reportedly did not provide adequate security for FBI agents sent to Libya in the aftermath of the deadly violence.

Obama’s press secretary, Jay Carney, contradicted his boss on September 20 when he stated that it was “self-evident” that the attacks were the result of terrorism, not a video.

An unidentified State Department individual told The Washington Times today that the violence in Libya on September 11 had “never” been associated with the video.

While a “radical Islamic group,” Ansar al-Sharia, has been identified as bearing responsibility for the attack in Benghazi, Obama has favored Muslims during his four years in the White House, beginning with a speech in Cairo, Egypt prior to the Arab Spring which brought down the leader of that country and ushered in a member of The Muslim Brotherhood as its newly-elected leader.

The Benghazi perpetrators have reportedly returned and continue to launch attacks aimed at soldiers and police officers.

Obama reportedly wears a ring with an Islamic inscription on it which translates to “There is no god except Allah.” Obama has bowed and kissed the ring of the King of Saudi Arabia, a country known for its Wahhabi sect of Islam which allows women to be beaten and stoned to death.

During the 2008 campaign, Obama mentioned his “Muslim faith” to reporter George Stephanopoulos, after which Stephanopoulos quickly corrected Obama by saying, “your Christian faith.”

Obama attended the Trinity United Church of Christ church while living in Chicago, but his former pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, said that Obama had been “steeped in Islam” upon his arrival at the church, which preaches Black Liberation Theology.

Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Martin Dempsey chastised a decorated Lt. Col. who had been teaching a class on the dangers of militant Islam by giving him a poor review which will preclude further promotions.  Obama promoted Dempsey to Joint Chiefs Chairman after Dempsey allowed U.S. Army troops to deploy as law enforcement officers into the town of Samson, AL on March 10, 2009 in violation of the Posse Comitatus Act.

Both Dempsey and Obama have been named in the commission of treason against the United States by a retired military officer.  A New Hampshire state representative has accused Obama of treason and requested a congressional investigation which has not occurred on the treason complaint.

During late 2010 and early 2011, upheaval in many Middle Eastern countries dubbed the “Arab Spring” led to the overthrow of longstanding dictators, but radical Islamists, including the terrorist group Hezbollah, seek to take hold of governments in Syria and Ethiopia and have already overthrown an elected government in Mali.

Following the September 11 Benghazi attack, “potential targets” were compiled for possible drone strikes to be ordered by Obama, who had compiled his own “kill list” with a “secretive panel of senior government officials.”  The Atlantic, which formerly appeared supportive of Obama’s policies as recently as March of this year, stated in regard to targeted drone attacks ordered by Obama without clear legal authority:

Under Obama, the executive branch is setting the penalty for treason. It isn’t bothering to convict the accused. And alleged guilt is established through an opaque process that it won’t even discuss. There is no indication that witnesses are being called to testify to the same overt act, and the accused are most certainly not confessing in open court. In other words, the actions of the Obama administration are straightforwardly unconstitutional, and those involved in the process are violating the oath that they took to protect and defend our founding document.

Republican presidential contender Mitt Romney has said that Obama’s conducting of drone strikes in the Middle East “is not a strategy.”  Has Obama delayed taking action for a specific reason?

The Atlantic also reports this evening that a “protest” was not what initiated the Benghazi attack, which it describes as “without precedent in U.S. diplomatic history.”  Journalist Diane Sawyer questioned how the “change in the story” on the part of the State Department could be explained.

Perhaps Obama spent more time in Muslim countries than he has claimed in his public life story.  He recommended appropriating an additional $200,000,000 in aid to the Palestinians, a move which Hillary Clinton supported, bringing aid levels to nearly $400,000,000 for fiscal year 2012.  Obama has designated refugees from East Asia, South Asia and Africa as priorities for fiscal year 2013.

Increasingly, mosques and Islamics have been seen in America over the last dozen years, and honor killings have taken place in growing numbers throughout the world during the last decade.  The goal of The Muslim Brotherhood, which is no longer “banned” in the Middle East, is to establish an Islamic caliphate worldwide governed by Sharia law.  Are fears of Sharia taking hold “overblown?”

Update, October 10, 2012, 10:20 a.m. EDT:  Former Regional Security Officer for the U.S. embassy in Benghazi, Libya, Eric Nordstrom, who will testify later today to the House Oversight Committee, has already related to investigators that the State Department failed to provide a response on two occasions after he requested additional security for the Benghazi outpost.
