DONOFRIO REPORTS 180° TURN AROUND IN FUKINO’S OFFICE

(Oct. 2, 2009) — Speculation about rout in the office of the Hawaiian Director of Health and revelations that her communications director, Janice Okubo, was not complying with Hawaiian law regarding information disclosure seems to have lead to a 180° change in policy at the Department of Health.
In emails published this afternoon by Attorney Leo Donofrio, Okubo admits the Department has index data on Barry Obama Jr. and the marriage of Obama Sr. and Stanley Ann Dunham, and that it is available for inspection for public visitors to the Department of Health’s Office of Health Status Monitoring at 1250 Punchbowl Street in Honolulu.
Curiously, however, Janice Okubo does not directly answer the question put to her by a citizen-investigator, who goes by the name “KingsKid.” It appears from her response that she is attempting to make it appear that Obama Jr. is the child of the two adults. It is also curious that she had released index data for the marriage of the parents, without being requested to do so.
In another email Okubo also denies there is a record for a Maya Soetero. Moreover the index data that she cites has the name “Barack” for both father and son.
However it seems that Okubo is badly informed, or has outright lied, because in a subsequent email she denies that the Department of Health has divorce records; when in fact Hawaiian Law specifies that the DoH does keep them.
Finally, in response for a request for all index data pertaining to Obama Jr., Okubo expressly states that the information she is releasing is what the DoH has decided to release; and thus indicates there is more data that they are refusing to release; whether in violation of the law or not, is not at this time known.
