(Oct. 21, 2026) — President Donald Trump is approaching the midpoint of his second term, so it’s a good time to evaluate what he has accomplished on immigration issues.

There is much controversy over Trump’s record. Many of his supporters have grown disenchanted and now say he hasn’t delivered on many of his promises.

However, when you get past the rhetoric, the record speaks clearly.

On the National Question (immigration and national identity), Trump’s achievements over the past two years are quite impressive.

THE BORDER

Trump solved the border crisis so decisively, the public has practically forgotten it was ever a problem.

Remember how bad the border was under both parties? For decades, politicians promised to fix it but never did. Mass migration boosters claimed it was impossible to secure the border.

Trump ended all that. The border is under control, few cross it illegally, and catch-and-release has been terminated.

DETENTION AND DEPORTATION

If your bathtub is overflowing, the first step is turn off the faucet. Then you can remove the excess water.

That’s where we are. The border is closed. Now we’re in the much more difficult phase of getting all the illegal aliens out.

Following controversy and difficulties in Minneapolis, it’s been wrongly reported that nobody is being detained nor deported. That’s not true. Illegals are being captured and removed at higher numbers than ever before.

“U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested nearly 51,000 illegal aliens in August 2026, surpassing July’s total for the new record of highest number of illegal aliens arrested in a single month,” the Department of Homeland Security recently announced.

When illegal aliens see the government get serious about detention and removal, they often self-deport in greater numbers than those who are forcibly removed. This is what we want.

In August, the Trump administration announced that 3 million illegal aliens had left the country since Jan. 2025: 985,000 were removed and 2.2 million self-deported. That was two months ago.

More needs to be done but Trump has already accomplished more than anyone before him.
