(Oct. 7, 2026) — “Serve the audience you have.”

Five words. Simple on their own, but a burr when strung together.

Ever since I heard them on a recent podcast, they have clung like fur from our son’s pair of English Cream Golden Retrievers (meet Arlo below).

“Serve the audience you have.”

The advice resonates because the guest expressed what I try to do here on By Green Pastures.

You testify to God’s faithfulness. I have written previously that I seek to present reasonable content as best I can and depend on God to draw the readers. No perks. No gimmicks. No clickbait. I count on God to steer the Substack surfers here as He sees fit.

God has been merciful. I gained 45 subscribers (one paid) and 69 followers since last October. God has given the increase.
