“THIS IS ANARCHY”
by Sharon Rondeau

(Oct. 6, 2026) — In a lengthy appearance with Fox News’s Harris Faulkner late Tuesday morning, former Margaret Thatcher adviser Nile Gardiner described the protests taking place across France over the last two weeks as an “insurrection.”
On Tuesday in Paris, anti-riot police released tear gas in an attempt to control protesters blocking the streets, maneuvering vehicles and clashing with officers, some wearing garments symbolizing the Palestinian flag.
According to major media, the protests arose with students over poor conditions and a lack of resources in the nation’s secondary schools. As of Monday, approximately 500 schools were closed, with many damaged by protesters.
Fires have also been set in the streets, the BBC reported on Friday, and that “Education Minister Édouard Geffray said the movement had been hijacked by non-students.”
“Mass migration” has been identified as an underlying catalyst of the escalating protests, former U.S. Consul General in Marseille Simon Hankinson told Faulkner at 11:49 a.m., as the significant number of “migrants” from vastly different cultures permitted into France in recent decades have “brought their gripes with them.”
“Riot police,” Hankinson said, are currently “outnumbered” by the “red-green alliance” driving the protests.
As the broadcast continued, President Trump posted on Truth Social that “What’s happening in France is nothing less than out of control mass migration. This isn’t about schools, this is about Islam wanting to take over a once great Country!”
An election in the spring for president includes National Rally (formerly National Front) candidate Marine LePen, who has sought the post several times in the past and has a criminal conviction she has twice appealed, and “a communist,” Faulkner remarked, Fabien Roussel.
France’s current president, Emmanuel Macron, is term-limited and cannot run again.
A primary for the “social-democratic left” candidates will begin October 9.
More than 200 people have incurred injuries, multiple sources have reported, since the riots began.
According to the Jerusalem Center for Security and Foreign Affairs (JCFA), the “red-green alliance” consists of “a tactical collaboration between two groups that, despite their differences, share a common goal: the dismantling of Western liberal democracy and the destruction of the Jewish state.”
“The Reds,” the reference article continues, [are] “rooted in Marxist and communist ideologies, envision a global revolution that upends capitalist systems, often viewing Jews and Israel as symbols of Western oppression. The Greens, driven by Islamist ideologies such as those of the Muslim Brotherhood and the Iranian Islamic Revolution, seek a global Islamic caliphate or messianic ‘Mahdism,’ seeing the West and Israel as primary obstacles to their vision.”
According to the Florida Family Association, an “American Muslim Democratic Conference” held virtually on October 3 at which at least 15 U.S. politicians were speakers illustrated a “Red Green alliance.”
At a simultaneous protest in Lyon, some protesters were seen bearing flags with a hammer and sickle, the flag of communism.
“This is anarchy,” Gardiner, who returned to the air in the following hour,” told Faulkner, who was then co-hosting “Outnumbered.”
