(Apr. 21, 2026) — In the wake of an upcoming Wednesday deadline for Iran to make a “deal” with the United States to include abandoning its nuclear ambitions, President Donald Trump on Tuesday offered Iranian leadership an open-ended time frame to prepare a peace “proposal.”
According to “Hannity” host Sean Hannity at 9:01 p.m., his sources say the extension will be “short.”
“Based on the fact that the Government of Iran is seriously fractured, not unexpectedly so and, upon the request of Field Marshal Asim Munir, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, of Pakistan, we have been asked to hold our Attack on the Country of Iran until such time as their leaders and representatives can come up with a unified proposal,” Trump wrote on Truth Social at 4:09 p.m. EDT.
As a result, Trump said, “I have therefore directed our Military to continue the Blockade and, in all other respects, remain ready and able, and will therefore extend the Ceasefire until such time as their proposal is submitted, and discussions are concluded, one way or the other.”
Early Tuesday morning, Trump called out Iran for violating the ceasefire agreement declared on Thursday.
Since the inception of Operation Epic Fury to permanently deny Iran any nuclear capability, Trump has insisted the U.S. is “winning” over the regime both militarily and economically.
On Friday Trump was highly optimistic that negotiations were coming to fruition as he declared Iran had pledged to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to its customary shipping traffic, including approximately 20% of the world’s oil supply.
However, on Saturday the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared the Strait closed and fired on at least two ships attempting to pass through.
On March the regime had stopped virtually all navigation of the Strait, sending oil and gasoline prices surging and U.S. domestic concerns about the state of the economy.
Due to its closure, Iran is losing a reported $435 million daily in lost oil sales.
On April 13, Trump imposed a blockade on the Strait which he ordered the U.S. military to maintain even as he allowed Iran more time to engage in diplomatic efforts on Tuesday.
This week Vice President JD Vance, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Special Envoy for Peace Jared Kushner were to travel to Islamabad, Pakistan, where unsuccessful talks took place on April 11, to resume negotiations. However, earlier Tuesday Vance attended a White House meeting, and according to IBTimes UK, Witkoff and Kushner’s plane “appeared to have turned back mid-air.”
Prior to the trip’s cancellation, Trump asked the regime to free eight women reportedly sentenced to hang, a frequent punishment the Iranian mullahs impose on dissidents.

Iran doesn’t want the Strait of Hormuz closed, they want it open so they can make $500 Million Dollars a day (which is, therefore, what they are losing if it is closed!). They only say they want it closed because I have it totally BLOCKADED (CLOSED!), so they merely want to “save face.” People approached me four days ago, saying, “Sir, Iran wants to open up the Strait, immediately.” But if we do that, there can never be a Deal with Iran, unless we blow up the rest of their Country, their leaders included! While Trump has on several occasions threatened to “blow up” Iran’s infrastructure and power plants, thus far he has appeared reticent to revert to it, preferring to pursue diplomacy.
Why ‘nuke’ us when they have Omar and millions of her relatives already in our country?
Seems to me, even if Iran loses the battle Islam will win the war unless we get smart and it doesn’t look like we have a snowball’s chance unless, that is, if we don’t face the fact that Islam is NOT a religion but a Totalitarian form of government that is a DEATH CULT.
