(Apr. 1, 2026) — President Trump will speak to the nation from the Oval Office at 9:00 p.m. Wednesday on the progress of the conflict with Iran, now in its fifth week.

At the outset of hostilities on February 28, Trump suggested the mission would take perhaps four weeks to achieve its goal of neutering Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

The speech will follow Trump’s nomination Wednesday evening of four individuals to serve as federal judges and his attendance at oral argument taking place in front of the U.S. Supreme Court Wednesday morning on the issue of “birthright citizenship,” which Trump attempted to sharply curtail by Executive Order 14160 on January 20, 2025.

He also posted a message to all who will celebrate Passover beginning on Thursday.

In his Truth Social timeline Wednesday, Trump did not hint at what he might say this evening, but some reports claim he intends to explain how Operation Epic Fury will wind down.

At present, normal shipping activity through the Strait of Hormuz is blocked by Iran, causing fuel prices to rise globally, an issue Trump said will preclude the U.S. from granting the “ceasefire” Iran reportedly wants.
