(Oct. 9, 2025) — In a cabinet meeting commencing at approximately 12:07 p.m. EDT Thursday broadcast live, President Trump provided more details about his announcement Wednesday evening of an agreement among the terrorist group Hamas, Israel and other Middle-Eastern nations of an end to the war in Gaza between Israel and Hamas launched October 7, 2023 after Hamas viciously attacked Israeli civilians attending a music festival and in their kibbutz.
Trump proposed a 20-point plan of which recent developments constitute the first phase.
The remaining 28 hostages kidnapped by the terror group, many of whom are deceased, Trump said, will be released on “Monday or Tuesday.” He also floated the possibility he will be present when it happens.
“Everything came together,” he said at 12:11. Participants included Indonesia, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Iran and others, he said.
At 12:15, he shifted to speaking on domestic issues, specifically the cost of prescription drugs which he said Americans have been subsidizing while Europeans and other nations’ people benefit from much lower pricing.
The meeting is being livestreamed here.
In exchange for the hostage release, Israel has committed to free approximately 2,000 Palestinian detainees and withdraw its troops from the Gaza Strip, which Hamas first began governing in 2007.
“I will be leaving fairly soon for the Middle East,” Trump confirmed at 12:30 p.m. after having discussed various subjects, including his administration’s finding that Antifa is a domestic terror organization.
