(Sep. 12, 2025) — Following President Trump’s unofficial announcement during the 8:00 a.m. hour of “Fox & Friends” that the person of interest the FBI was seeking in the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk on Wednesday, the FBI will be holding a press conference at approximately 9:30 a.m. EDT/7:30 a.m. MDT.
The time could change as developments occur.
According to Trump, who qualified what he said with “I think,” a minister and “father” became involved in turning in the subject, who was shown in video and still footage Thursday wearing a long-sleeved black shirt with a patriotic emblem on the front, a black cap with a triangle on the front, and Converse sneakers, according to officials.
“Everybody did a great job,” Trump told the co-hosts of how the person was apprehended.
Over 7,000 tips were received by the FBI, Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said on Thursday night. At that time, the public’s help was requested in identifying the individual.
