(Jun. 23, 2025) — On Monday at approximately 6:30 p.m. EDT, President Trump announced on TruthSocial “a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE” was agreed to by Israel and Iran following 12 days of reciprocal military attacks.
Israeli and U.S. intelligence claimed Iran was just “weeks” away from an ability to release a nuclear weapon, with Israel having been declared a mortal enemy of the Islamic regime years ago.
On Saturday night, the U.S. military dropped 14 B-2 bombs on three Iranian nuclear-development sites, after which Trump declared the mission “very successful” and Iran’s nuclear capabilities “obliterated.”
“CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE!” Trump wrote. “It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED!”
Reportedly, Trump brokered the agreement on the phone earlier on Monday.
After outlining the timing of the cessation of hostilities agreed to, Trump declared, “This is a War that could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn’t, and never will! God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and GOD BLESS THE WORLD!”
Trump campaigned on a platform of world peace. Amid the U.S. military’s precision strikes on Iran over the weekend and what he termed a “very weak response” from Iran earlier Monday in the form of “14 missiles fired,” he advocated Iran embrace “Peace and Harmony in the Region, and I will enthusiastically encourage Israel to do the same.”
The missiles were intercepted by the Qatari military, for which Trump thanked the Emir, who had hosted him in an official state visit last month.
