Dear Editor,
Hamas’s release of Israelis kidnapped during its ineffable barbarism against Israel on October 7, 2023 is truly a wonderful moment, but so very sadly not for the greater good of Israel nor the Free World, let alone for the Palestinians!
Reality: Israel has been bullied by both Biden and Trump into freeing hundreds of Palestinians, with so many having committed terrible crimes, to fight yet again with/alongside Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran, all of whom have vowed to destroy Israel and all Jewish peoples while detesting Western Civilization (which will yet, time and time again, have to come to the defence of democratic, Western-society Israel).
Neither Biden nor Trump should claim the hostage release as/will be an historical, “Golden Moment,” because it is most definitely gilded in fools’ gold!
Yours,
Howard Hutchins

Sharon, I disagree some. The lockstep finding of a dark lining fails to acknowledge you could lose ALL the hostages if you did not concede something. Hamas had an evil bargaining chip. But that does not change that it is a chip.
Expanded Abraham Accords membership is coming, and that may marginalize the outliers and legitimize future Israeli self-defense action.
Lastly, Biden and the dope named Blinken are gone. Support for the next four years, at least, will be prompt and sufficient. In other words, Hamas took advantage of Biden et al.
