(Oct. 11, 2024) — When the moon climbs high in the old oak trees, painting shadows on the tombstones, like long, black fingers reaching for something in the dark, one has often seen a glimpse of the mysterious Idoelin and mistook it for a spirit come from the other side of this life. But, in fact, the Idoelin is a kind of fae, commissioned by the king of the fae, himself, to guard the tombs and graves of the departed.

The Idoelin are generally playful creatures. In their casual state, their appearance is similar to a cloud floating close to the earth. But, they are, also, soldiers, fighting against the evil forces of the prince of the air. It is in those confrontations that they transform into fearsome warriors.

Now, you have no need to fear the Idoelin, for they fight for the protection of the living and the dead. So, next time you think you see a bit of a white cloud dart behind a headstone, be sure to say, “Hello.” Don’t be surprised if it shows itself and tries to engage you in a game of hide-and-seek.
