(Jul. 4, 2024) — At 2:45 a.m. Thursday, former Overstock.com CEO Patrick Byrne posted on his “X” account a screenshot appearing to show that 2024 presumptive Republican presidential candidate Donald J. Trump selected Lt. Gen. Michael T. Flynn (Ret) as his running-mate.

Flynn, a former Democrat, was Trump’s first national-security adviser, forced to resign after approximately three weeks on the job resulting from a seemingly informal visit from the FBI and what appeared to be Flynn’s dishonesty about his phone calls with the Russian ambassador during the 2016 presidential transition period.
After considerable litigation in federal court regarding his attempted withdrawal of his “guilty” plea of lying to the FBI, on November 25, 2020, Trump issued Flynn a complete and unconditional pardon.
On Wednesday, Flynn endorsed Trump on TruthSocial, which Trump “retruthed.” The post also appears on Flynn’s “X” account.

“This is our last chance to vote for freedom from government control,” Flynn’s endorsement began. “Will your children live the American Dream or be enslaved by a corrupt, wasteful government of woke globalists?…”
After Trump left office in early 2021, Byrne and Flynn launched “The America Project,” a non-profit designed “to empower the American people to preserve our constitutional republic and defeat tyranny.”
“We aim to be a ‘symphony conductor’ of the Pro-Freedom, Pro-Constitutional movement, synchronizing and magnifying the efforts of those who wish to ally with us through connecting, training, funding, and working together to save America,” the mission statement further reads.
In September 2022, the AP and “Frontline” reported “investigating” Flynn, writing he “has been systematically building a political movement based on Christian nationalist ideas.”
The article further reports:
Flynn was a leader of the “Stop the Steal” effort to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election that Trump lost to Democrat Joe Biden. Flynn sat in the front row at a rally near the White House on Jan. 6, 2021, when then-President Trump urged his supporters to march on the Capitol.
In the years since, Flynn has traversed the United States, trying to assemble his own political support.
An investigation by The Associated Press and FRONTLINE found that Flynn has used public appearances to energize voters, made political endorsements to build alliances and amassed a network of nonprofit groups to advance the movement. Along the way, Flynn and his companies have earned hundreds of thousands of dollars for his efforts.
Last Thursday, Raw Story reported having communicated with “Trump campaign treasurer Bradley Crate,” who it said termed the FEC report “a fraud.”
On his “X” account Flynn is promoting “flynnmovie.com” about his background, which includes combat tours in the Middle East and serving as the Director of Intelligence Agency (DIA) under Barack Obama.
During the 2016-2017 transition, Obama reportedly warned Trump not to consider offering Flynn the position of national-security adviser. On May 8, 2017, NBC News wrote:
Former President Obama warned President Donald Trump against hiring Mike Flynn as his national security adviser, three former Obama administration officials tell NBC News.
The warning, which has not been previously reported, came less than 48 hours after the November election when the two sat down for a 90-minute conversation in the Oval Office.
Flynn’s website contains videos of interviews and speaking engagements dating to 2021 as well as books and DVDs he has produced on topics such as “How to Fight Artificial Intelligence” and The Citizen’s Guide to Fifth Generation Warfare.” Items sold also include apparel, beverage tumblers and tote bags.
As this story went to press, The Post & Email contacted the FEC with the following:
Is it accurate that the page at FEC.gov stating Donald J. Trump has filed paperwork indicating his vice-presidential choice to be “Flynn” is fraudulent?
https://www.fec.gov/data/candidate/P40020406/?cycle=2024&election_full=false
If so, why is that page still there? Was the FEC website hacked in some way? If so, does the FEC plan to pursue an investigation?
Thank you very much.

Gen. Flynn is a high ranking military official who is a Patriot and who is trying to protect our Constitutional Republic from New World Order !
WOW… That’s a choice that wasn’t on the radar of most voters. If so, it’s obvious how the Dems will play it… but not so obvious how the voters will receive. The plot thickens.
