(Feb. 20, 2024) — Just after noon on Tuesday, 2024 Republican presidential candidate launched a speech from Greenville, SC appearing to justify why she is remaining in the race among calls for her to suspend her campaign given primary results thus far.

In remarks made on many previous occasions, Haley made the case that “times change” and that leading Republican candidate Donald J. Trump, though the “right president at the right time,” is no longer fit to serve due to his age and other factors.

Haley began her address by stating, with a slight smile, that she is not withdrawing from the race while acknowledging it might have been the media’s purpose in covering it.

The former United Nations ambassador under Trump aimed criticism at both the former president and Joe Biden, claiming Trump is increasingly “unstable” and plans to “abandon Ukraine” should he win re-election.

She again made the case that both men are “too old” to serve as president and that a reported majority of Americans do not wish to see a rematch between them in November.

Speaking of foreign policy, “Americans already know what Joe Biden and Donald Trump will do,” Haley said. “They’re dividers…all they do is turn us against each other…They demand that their followers hate the other side.”

She decried the political divisions among Americans as “evil” and said she wants to “remind everyone what it means to be an American.”

“I’m the proud daughter of legal immigrants,” she said, emphasizing the word “legal,” and said she became “the first female minority governor” of the state.

“We respect freedom, the rule of law…and we recognize that America has done more good for more people than anybody in the world,” she said.

She asked her “fellow South Carolinians” to continue to “stand with” her even after the state’s primary on Saturday.

“Let’s finally leave the past behind,” she added.

She said her husband Michael is “at the forefront of my mind” and became emotional. “He’s serving on the other side of the world where conflict is the norm,” she said tearfully, “…this is Michael’s second deployment…”

She said he “stepped up to keep us safe” and defended his service to the country.

At 12:30 p.m., Haley concluded her remarks with “God bless you” and thanked the audience.

As The Post & Email reported earlier, the speech was not on the events roster on her campaign website.

  1. You certainly have no future in American politics. “Not going anywhere” is exactly what you have to look forward to. You are ruining any future in American politics that you might have had. How about political office in India?

  2. Another potential snake in the grass much like Nikki Halley is Tulsi Gabbard. Tulsi Gabbard is a political chameleon changing her exterior stripes and colors to suit her current political agenda. Buyer beware with Tulsi! She is a dedicated Bernie Sanders type Socialist at heart. Blast From The Past: Is Tulsi Gabbard a Natural Born Citizen? No!: https://cdrkerchner.wordpress.com/2024/02/24/blast-from-the-past-is-tulsi-gabbard-a-natural-born-citizen-no/ She is not who she lately portrays herself to be. Trump’s campaign should keep her at a 10′ pole arm’s length, in my opinion. She is not to be trusted and will stab him and the MAGA movement in the back when it suits her true Socialist political agenda at some point in the future.
