Spread the love

(Nov. 3, 2023) — The Post & Email has been notified by Mailchimp, distributor of its daily newsletter for the last seven years, that the cost will again be increasing effective December 6.

Now owned by Intuit, Mailchimp’s fee has been incurring regular increases over the last four years, prior to Intuit’s acquisition of the company. As The Post & Email’s income has fallen considerably over the years, beginning with the COVID-19 pandemic and the unexpected closure of our Paypal account in May 2020, we are soliciting feedback as to whether readers find the newsletter helpful or if they log on independently, without receiving such a prompt each day.

Historically, we have found only a very small percentage of those registered to receive the newsletter actually open the email, leading us to believe it might not be necessary outside of the affordability question.

Support from Mailchimp has been sparse or nonexistent, and recent billing inquiries have received no response.

Please feel free to provide your thoughts in the “Comments” section or privately to editor@thepostemail.com.

Update, 9:16 a.m.: Mailchimp just responded in detail to our latest inquiry about pricing.

  1. Of all the mail I get, too much to read all, P&E is read daily. I don’t know who mailchimp is nor do I think they are important. Wherever you go I will find you. I’m always sharing the content you produce and recommending P&E to friends and family.

  2. Hi!
I open the email, read it and send a copy to other websites for their review.
    Thank you!

  3. I will continue to read The Post & Email without daily updates to my email address.
It’s time to cut-off the chocolate-covered bananas to mailchimp.
