(Sep. 5, 2023) — The word “freedom” is generally defined as the right to act, speak, or think as the individual desires without any hindrance or restraint.
“Freedom” is a word bandied about daily, but seldom is it ever discussed in quantifiable terms. Are we losing freedoms, how much have we lost, and will we lose all our freedoms (rights) someday?
The obvious answer to the foregoing is multiple yesses. Our freedoms are not taken at the point of a gun, but in rather insidious ways crafted by the state and federal governments. In fact, we’re faced with this issue daily, e.g., the federal government’s fraudulently-hyped pandemic, the bare-faced lie that America is a hopelessly-lost racist nation, that continuing to use fossil fuels will destroy the planet, that all guns should be banned because a few people misuse them, etc., etc. Of course, there are many more examples, not the least of which is the crushing tax burden borne by our middle class.
We the people can stop all these attempts to take our rights away. All one needs to do is involve oneself in the issues, understand them, and vote your conscience in November 2024; it’s that simple.
