This simple country lawyer predicts the following possibilities:

1. If District Court Judge, Aileen Cannon, keeps the case, that is good for Trump; Very good!

She is a Conservative!

She has the power to dismiss the matter, after the Government rests, for INSUFFICIENT EVIDENCE.

She can make favorable evidentiary rulings for Trump AND she has the power to grant a continuance until after the election.

Trump’s attorneys will make compelling arguments to continue the matter until after the election.

2. The Jury Venire are from Florida, much, much better for Trump, than D.C. jurors who  intensely dislike him.

It is unlikely that twelve jurors will vote guilty;  A hung jury is a strong possibility.

3. The jurors may use jury nullification because they are ANGRY with the prosecutors for overreach, my G-D, [ 37 counts ] and for selective enforcement of the law & for violating the 14th amendment requiring equal protection of the law because neither Biden nor Hillary was indicted, nor was Hunter; this could anger the venire to use jury nullification.

Jury nullification means the jurors will disregard the instructions on the law and acquit the Defendant.

4. Trump is charged with ESPIONAGE, one of the most serious of all crimes.  It even provides for the death penalty in some cases.

Espionage requires that the defendant INTENDED to harm the United States or help a Foreign Nation; few would believe that was Trump’s intent!

5. Speedy Trial, 6th Amendment, U.S. Constitution is usually advanced by the defendant but in this case, the Government will want to convict Trump before the election and will request a ‘speedy trial’.

His attorneys will assert that they are ‘not ready’ and the right to counsel includes ‘competent counsel’ which will usurp the speedy trial request by the Government.

Bottom line here:

This is not the slam-dunk for the Government that many pundits believe.

U.S. District Court Judge Aileen Cannon would serve America best by dismissing the government’s case against former President Trump due to lack of standing. :)
