(May 30, 2023) — The purpose of my visit to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier on Memorial Day is best summed up by Honor And Remember’s mission: “To Publicly Honor And Remember Every American Fallen Service Member and Recognize the Enduring Sacrifice of Every Family.” Almost 2 million American military men and women have made the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom that all too many Americans take for granted, and that’s only those who were killed in action…think of all those who subsequently died due to combat-connected injury or illness.
A long, long time ago in a country far, far away, as an electronic technician in the U.S. Army I served America. Fortunately I never experienced actual combat, but that was only because of my brothers-in-arms who did…especially the 58,500+\- who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. Now, as Honor And Remember’s Ambassador to Maryland, I serve the families of America’s Fallen…whose only request is that America never forget.
