Spread the love

(May 13, 2023) — “Quack-quack,” Mother Duck said as she waddled ahead of her brood.
Twenty-four small webbed feet tried to keep up as best as they could.

“We’ve no time to stop and chat, though humans seem congenial;
It’s getting late, let us haste back to our lush perennial.”

The tiny flock made its way o’er stony paths amidst the throngs,
As laughter rose up and mingled with the merry anthem songs.

In sync they all marched and kept their pace within the cavalcade,
Unaware that with each step a charming spectacle they made.

‘Tween bars of iron, ‘cross grass of green the family made their way,
Till at last they found their rest where reeds and flowers bob and sway.

Beside castle moat tiny eyes blinked as sleep them overtook,
While Mother Duck vigil kept and fixed on them a loving look.
