Information, Misinformation, Ipse Dixit and Censorship

(Apr. 22, 2023) — Constitutional law professor Jonathan Turley recently posted an article pointing out the draconian censorship path upon which Great Britain is descending.  It is a short, but ominous read.  The censorship of free speech in England is plumbing new depths of lunacy and malevolence…, and yet Hillary (“BleachBit?  What BleachBit?”) Clinton urges similar assaults upon the First Amendment here and here, despite our defeat of Britain in order to adopt that amendment in the first place.  Go figure.

In Turley’s view, the most recent outrage “across the pond” is the proposal to arrest and “jail social media executives if they fail to censor so-called ‘harmful’ content on their websites. The government, of course, will determine what is deemed too harmful for citizens to see or hear.” And once the First Amendment here is crippled, determinations of what the citizens will be allowed to see and hear will depend on the ipse dixit – “it is so because I say it is so” – narratives and pronouncements of governmental bureaucrats.   Diverge from the approved narrative at your peril…, Winston Smith.

Is this what the Founders believed when they decided to place freedom of speech in the very first amendment to the Constitution?  Decidedly not.  But like the hurricane surrounding the “natural born Citizen” presidential eligibility clause in the Constitution itself, to challenge the accepted “ipse dixit” narrative that if one is born anywhere on the planet as a “citizen by birth” or a “citizen at birth,” such is “good enough” to render one a “natural born Citizen,” is to risk, if liberals like Clinton had their way, ending up looking out through the bars of a cell at an exercise yard at Ft. Leavenworth.  But since that is only a “medium security” prison, perhaps the Uber-Goof’s Attorney General, Merrick Garland – assuming he is not impeached for asserted perjury – could be directed to refurbish and reactivate Alcatraz.  Yeah…, that’s the ticket for those purveyors of disinformation.    

The fact that Slick Willie’s spouse is openly calling for pogroms targeting free speech as are rising in Great Britain should send chills down the spines of normal Americans.  Instead, it sends thrills up the legs of Democrat politicians – even imbecilic ones like Clinton – and those who would gladly destroy the First Amendment…, which, by the way, does not exist in England.  If Clinton and her sycophants revile free speech so much, maybe they should renounce their U.S. citizenship and move to London.  Or Shanghai.  Good riddance.

Here, the drumbeat of censorship continues to grow louder.  Naturally – a term with special significance to your humble servant – the prime targets of the pogrom have come to be the postings on Internet websites and on social media platforms. 

Most recently, the articles and postings of medical doctors who have dared to speak the truth about the mRNA “vaccines” intended to fight the Covid-19 pandemic, pointing out their toxicity and danger, for example here and here, run the risk of outright censorship if libs like Clinton had their way.  Any “speech” or “contention” that varies from the governmental ipse dixit of the CDC, the FDA, the lobbyists of Big Pharma or Anthony Fauci becomes a ripe target for the censors.

But as noted, those who would have the gall to challenge the validity of the “natural born Citizen” figment fashioned by lawyers at the Congressional Research Service; former officials in the U.S. Solicitor General’s Office; woke university professors; and media talking heads must be “held accountable.”  Since marginalizing, denigrating and lampooning them has not worked thus far, look for more “aggressive” measures to be proposed and deployed in the future, including the Ft. Leavenworth and Alcatraz options noted above.  How dare these ill-informed “birthers” offer “information” to counter the accepted “better information” – also known as “misinformation” – regarding who the Founders intended to be eligible to the presidency?

Faithful P&E readers, the United States is in growing danger of collapse, but not from foreign invaders…, and illegal aliens don’t count.  Instead, the incremental destruction of the Republic warned against by Benjamin Franklin is now being orchestrated and presided over by an addled Brandon, his marionette-masters and a cadre of registered voters who consider themselves Democrats first, and Americans a distant second.  Sad.  Really sad.  And dangerous.

Your humble servant has said it many times before, but it always bears repeating as another general election approaches, now but some 20 months away.  Vote carefully in 2024…, very carefully, because the survival of the Republic may very well depend on it.  Not joking…, not hyperbole.
