Dear Editor,
Regarding Tasmanian Liberal Bridget Archer’s “disappointment” at her Liberal Party leader’s so very justifiable opposition to the proposed “Voice,” this bloke (who has many Aboriginal friends and has attended court with, employed, sponsored, and stopped from driving while unlicenced! unregistered cars Aborigines) quotes Moliere’s:
“Each day my reason tells me so; But reason does not rule in love, you know.”
Especially applicable to those more in love with themselves and/or saving themselves rather than constantly abused Aboriginal women and girl-children?
Ms Archer, remember when, around 20 years ago, Tasmanian “Aboriginal” Michael Mansell (really, “Snow White’s long-lost twin brother”?) so very sanctimoniously railed at the prospect of a multiple times sexually-, and otherwise physically-, violated (by a pack of great young Aboriginal “warriors”) far-northern Australia Aboriginal girl-child being adopted by a loving white family?
Now, Ms Archer, what if that had been a violated white girl-child so heinously abused by a pack of great young white “warriors” and a loving Aboriginal family had wanted to adopt her?
What, Ms Archer, would you have said to Mansell — that you were “disappointed” in him?
Yours,
Howard Hutchins
