(Mar. 22, 2023) Medical-freedom advocate, philanthropist, and former Silicon Valley tech entrepreneur Steve Kirsch announced on his Substack late Tuesday that Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. has launched an exploratory committee as he decides whether to seek the 2024 Democrat nomination for president.
If current White House occupant Joe Biden decides to run for reelection, Kennedy would be his second primary challenger, as 2020 Democrat presidential candidate Marianne Williamson declared her candidacy earlier this month.
In his post Kirsch included a link to Kennedy’s exploratory committee website, commenting that the mainstream media failed to report on the development. “Join, volunteer, donate. This is the single best thing you can do to end the insanity,” Kirsch subtitled his post.
Kennedy is the son of former U.S. Attorney General and U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy, who was assassinated in 1968 in Los Angeles while serving in the U.S. Senate. That event followed by approximately five years the assassination of his brother, then-President John F. Kennedy, in Dallas in November 1963.
An attorney and entrepreneur in his own right, RFK Jr. has traditionally been apolitical, focusing primarily on environmental law. In the early 1980s he served as an assistant district attorney in Manhattan, during which time he was apprehended for heroin possession and received probation and community service.
Kennedy is founder of the Pace University Environmental Litigation Clinic, Waterkeeper Alliance, and Children’s Health Defense (CHD), with the latter aimed at promoting children’s health through medical freedom of choice and improving environmental and other factors possibly impacting their well-being.
The website often features stories of individuals claiming serious injuries from vaccines.
According to Wikipedia, Kennedy’s professed belief that vaccines can cause autism in young children is “discredited” and a “conspiracy theory.”
On January 10, 2017, then-President-Elect Donald J. Trump chose Kennedy as his “Vaccine Czar,” according to Time. A “commission” to examine “vaccine safety” was to be established, The Daily Beast reported, but resulted in the new administration going “dark” on the subject, purportedly to align with a “pro-pharma agenda.”
Although having launched on March 10, Kennedy’s announcement of his formal consideration to run for president has, as Kirsch noted, received no mainstream press coverage.
Kirsch, who is twice-vaccinated for COVID-19 but regrets his decision after learning of injuries and deaths of some of his acquaintances’ family members after vaccination, has advocated for the CDC and FDA to not only release the data they hold on COVID-19 vaccine injuries, but also discontinue the mass vaccination program altogether.
