Third “Twitter Files” Release Shows Coordination with Government to Silence Trump

(Dec. 10, 2022) — A new release Friday night of “Twitter Files” by journalist Matt Taibbi shows extensive communication between federal-government agencies and Twitter executives to de-platform the then-sitting President of the United States, Donald J. Trump, in the weeks preceding and following the 2020 presidential election, well before the January 6 “insurrection” for which Democrats, and some Republicans, have attempted to blame him.

In October 2016, the FBI and other government agencies leaked allegations to the media that the Trump campaign was “colluding” with the Russian government to fix the outcome of the upcoming election, claims which proved unsubstantiated through a 22-month Special Counsel probe costing taxpayers approximately $45 million.

In last night’s Twitter revelations, the federal government’s involvement in the 2020 election is apparent through the admissions of Twitter executives who discussed having met with members of the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and the office of the Director of National Intelligence (DNI) in the weeks preceding the 2020 election.

Some now argue that in 2020, “collusion” took place to oust the sitting president, in part by squelching an accurate New York Post story about Democrat challenger Joe Biden’s son Hunter, who engaged in highly profitable business endeavors with foreign governments while his father served as vice president.

Some of those governments, such as Russia and China, have an adversarial relationship with the United States, and many Americans now believe Joe Biden is compromised insofar as the Chinese government is concerned.

Since the day after the election, Trump has maintained that he was the winner but for massive fraud from mail-in ballots, the inclusion of ballots arriving after the legal deadline, the shutting-out of Republican poll observers, and now, social-media censorship of narratives unfavorable to Biden.

Continuing his release, Taibbi tweeted Friday:

Since purchasing Twitter in late October for approximately $44 billion, CEO Elon Musk has pledged to restore the platform to one of “free speech” but not necessarily “freedom of reach.” He has pledged, however, to remove 1.5 billion inactive accounts after extending “amnesty” to a number of previously suspended ones.

Beginning on December 2, Musk has been releasing internal Twitter communications showing agreement among Twitter employees, many of whom have been fired or left the company, to lower the “visibility” of certain accounts or censor them altogether.

On Thursday evening, former New York Times journalist Bari Weiss released the second tranche of Twitter files revealing that Twitter managers maintained “secret blacklists” aimed at downgrading and silencing certain accounts, most of which expressed a “conservative” viewpoint.

A former Twitter executive, Yoel Roth, indicated he met regularly with the FBI, DNI office, and DHS, Taibbi reported.

On December 2, Taibbi released the first batch of “Twitter Files” indicating that Twitter executives took marching orders from the Biden campaign and Democratic National Committee (DNC) to censor the Hunter Biden laptop story. On Friday night, Taibbi indicated that he although he was told it might have occurred, he has not yet seen evidence that the Trump White House or 2020 campaign asked for any content “moderation.”

At approximately 9:00 p.m. Friday, Taibbi pledged that “more is coming” and wished everyone a “good night.”

Trump’s Twitter account was suspended on January 8, two days after the incursion at the Capitol, and recently unlocked by Musk. The decision to ban his account was made in consideration of “context…and the narrative that trump [sic] and his friends have pursued over the course of this election and frankly last 4+ years.”

Although referring to two tweets in his shuttered timeline as exculpatory, Trump has chosen to remain solely on his TruthSocial account at present.

An account removed from suspension is that of Dr. Pierre Kory, physician co-founder of the FLCCC Alliance, which advocates for early treatment of COVID-19. However, as of Saturday morning, Dr. James Lyons-Weiler, PhD, reported his account remains suspended.
