The Sermon of the Month

‘Thank you. Please be seated.

“Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to ‘The Pulse of the Nation,’ the place to hear it here first. I have asked ‘Pulse’, the most-watched information show in its time slot, for the time to broadcast my latest sermon from my church down on Hawthorn Street. As you can see, we have a packed house. Now, before we start, I’d like to make an announcement.

“I am very proud to announce that not one in our congregation got the ‘Clot Shot’ and none of the children who attend our school, from pre-school through 12, got the COVID-19 so-called ‘vaccine.’  Furthermore, any of our adults who got the Chinese 19 Flu were treated with Ivermectin, zinc and Vitamin ‘A’ and all successfully, I’m happy to say, came through with flying colors. No one died, our hearts are healthy and, because we didn’t wear masks, our lungs are healthy as well.

“Now, to get to what you all came to hear, ‘The Sermon of the Month.’  George Simpkins, one of our ushers, the one with the ‘Richard Kiley’-like voice, will narrate the prose while the chorus will sing Ennio Morricone’s song, ‘The Story of a Soldier’ (5:34) as background music. Please remain seated and I hope that you all enjoy the presentation.”

The Sermon of the Month

It was a time of truths that changed to lies,
It was a time of pride that changed to shame,
It was the time of standing tall to bended knee,
It was a time of reason that became ludicrous,
It was a bridge that became a dead end.

It was the opposite that became the truth,
It was history that was unrecognizable,
It was fantasy unbelievable,
It was impeding the facts to fit the narrative,
It was Fake News dissembling.

It was yet another sham of a racist unity,
It was name calling without logic,
It was a charade disguised as conspicuous,
It was the unnecessary that became obligatory,
It was a vaccine that devastated.

It was a time of plenty to empty shelves,
It was full employment to despair,
It was a future to behold to despondency,
It was freedom to the gulag,
It was a sense of purpose to no sense at all.

It was a time to arrest to no arraignment,
It was a time of planning to one of tyrannical regulations,
It was a time of no masks to sanctioned Child Abuse,
It was a time of laws to Judicial overreach,
It was a time of enlightenment to one of ignorance.

It was a time of prayer to denying God,
It was a time of relaxation to one of stress,
It was a time of longevity to SADS,
It was a time of acceptance to denial,
It was a time of security to FBI invasions.

It was a time of beginnings to erasing the past,
It was a time of law to lawlessness,
It was a time of walking the dog to eating it,
It was a time of fact to fiction,
It was a time of flying the flag to rejecting it.

“Thank you, George, excellent job, and what a beautiful rendition by our choir; most enjoyable. Thank you.

“At the end of the song it asks to ‘count all the crosses’ and ‘How high was the price they paid?’ I’ll tell you: there’s millions of crosses and the price was whatever it took to keep our Constitution as the law of the land, wherever that land may be: an island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean or on Mars. It all revolves around the Constitution, which the Dems have no affiliation to. The Dems are the party of Socialism, a political philosophy that has never worked.
