Dear Editor,

Hang on! Hang on here – foul-mouthed and bad-sport Aussie tennis champ Nick Kyrgios (no champion Aussie bloke, instead, consistently and so spuriously playing the race card instead of the scintillating, taxpayer-funded developed tennis he’s capable of) should not be defended as being unfairly maligned after his spitting at spectators at Wimbledon and continuous abusing of umpires and referees, etc!

Recently, on a filthy wet, windy and freezing cold winter’s day, our 15-year-old granddaughter’s local junior Aussie Rules Women’s Footy team won its Grand Final – a joy to see for all the young girls our granddaughter’s age and for the shivering-with-cold, young girl central umpire and two boundary umpire young blokes: all – for their bodily, and mental well-being protection! – escorted on and off the very wet, muddy and slippery-in-places, ground by fluorescent, orange-coloured jacketed “Umpire Escorts” at a 15-year-old girls’ sporting event (all because of shocking examples set by so-called, “champion” sportsmen like Nick Kyrgios’ appalling behaviour)!

Yours,

Howard Hutchins
