“Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to ‘The Pulse of the Nation,’ the place to hear it here first. With us today is none other than Professor Zorkophsky, our resident shrink, so to speak. Welcome to the show, Professor.”
“Thank you for such an insightful and glowing introduction, Roving, but please call me ‘Zork’ since I feel that it makes for a more relaxing atmosphere. I am proud to announce another bestseller, a book I titled ‘How to Survive PTSD,’ with the subtitle, ‘And Still Function.’ I hope it sells like hotcakes.”
“And maybe help a few along the way.”
“That, too.”
“So, besides the obvious, why write the book now?”
“My father used to say that the ‘world is going to hell in a handbasket,’ and if he were alive today I don’t think anybody would disagree, and add some of the negative life experience that our Afghan Veterans experience, then you get young men and women, mostly men, committing suicide at an overwhelming rate.”
“That the government, no doubt, lists as “Death by COVID-19’; is that true?”
“No doubt, just like there’s no doubt that the Taliban has, once again, made Afghan a hellhole on earth after, what, 20 years of our troops dying and getting maimed; nothing positive was accomplished.”
“Reminds one of Vietnam, doesn’t it? We went over to fight Communism and we lost: today Vietnam is a Communist country.”
“Yes, we abandoned the Vietnamese just as much as we abandoned our allies in Afghanistan. Such a waste, and the end result, for way too many – one is too many — is eating a bullet.”
“But there must be some solution to it all, isn’t there?”
“Yes, indeed, and step one is to stay away from the VA. Remember one thing: Biden’s government is not your friend, not in any shape or in any way. If you suffer from PTSD, all the VA will do is push pills down your throat, so stay away and make friends with people who share a common background.”
“So a shared experience is a common bond?”
“A shared experience is the strongest bond.”
“A wise statement. So, what does it take to eat a bullet?”
“Today’s recipe for suicide requires 100% low self-esteem, coupled with 100% of PTSD and the wife cheating. If you’re looking for an excuse, there it is.”
“How do the Veterans feel about all the Muslims in our country?”
“Now what the heck do you think? They figured it our pretty quickly: use our own laws to do us in.”
“How do you figure?”
“Easy: out-birth us; second, more Muslims equal more votes and more votes means more Muslims in congress which means vote the Constitution out, Sharia Law in.”
“So the time our Veterans were in Afghanistan was a total waste of time, just like in Vietnam?”
“And it all goes back to our worthless Joint Chiefs of Staff and year after year of completely incompetent Secretaries of Defense.”
“And the Veterans see the writing on the wall.”
“Plain as day, but it gets worse.”
“How so?”
“Putin, in his infinite wisdom, hired himself Chechen mercenaries (Muslims) to go into Ukraine and murder “infidels,” carte blanche, simple as that.”
“So it’s a win-win for Putin: he gets a free army and lets the Ukrainians kill them; pretty smart.”
“Well, there’s more to it than that, but what makes it bad for our Veterans is that the only ROE the Ukrainians have is to kill the enemy with absolutely no restrictions.”
“Meanwhile, we’re not deporting any Muslims from our land.”
“Not a one.”
“What does that mean, I mean, really?”
“It means that we don’t have what it takes to defend our Republic, that’s what it means. It means we lack the dedication to save ourselves, and our enemy knows it; trust me. Look at all this talk about ‘election reform’: talk, that’s all it is. Why not arrest and incarcerate each and every one who committed voter fraud during the last election first? Apparently we’re not really serious about saving our Republic. That’s why our Veterans kill themselves; they see the hypocrisy and the end game where all is lost, so why bother? No one else does.”
“And that’s what your book is about?”
“Yes, if nothing else than to remind people that if we don’t do what’s right, forget it.”
“What do you think our chances are?”
“You don’t want to know, but I will say this: there’s still an outside chance that we can save the ‘Beacon of Freedom for the World’ and I’ll leave it at that. It’s all about closing the border, deporting the illegals and unwanteds and that’s it. And one more thing.”
“What’s that?”
“Capital punishment for murderers, rapists and child molesters; I don’t care where they’re from or what they believe, or, for that matter, whatever a treaty says.”
“I couldn’t agree with you more, but what are the chances?”
“Now why do you think so many Veterans eat the bullet every day?”
“And with that we’ll be wishing you all a goodnight: Goodnight.
