(Feb. 23, 2021) — “The Night they Drove Old Dixie Down” (4:12)

“As I gazed into my crystal ball, I saw death and destruction and then the skies cleared; there were people dancing in the streets eating cotton candy; people laughing and greeting one another as friends, and nowhere was a policeman with a club ready to strike down a peaceful protester, exercising their rights as guaranteed by the Constitution.

“I didn’t see one mask; I failed to spot any mandates and nowhere was ‘The Clot Shot’ being given to adults and children alike. The carnival atmosphere was intoxicating and I reveled in people celebrating freedom.

“And then my gaze was drawn to the next street over, to a pair of people standing in front of Lady Justice, she who holds the scales: Trudeau and Freeland sentenced, heads down, a tableau repeated a little more than a half century before.

“And I smiled, knowing that, finally, justice was served to the Canadian people on a silver platter.”

Hot Child in the City” (3:09)

From a friend who grew up under Mussolini, after witnessing what is going on in Canada today:
“ … not having seen anything similar in Italy during Mussolini’s time…”

So the comparison may actually be unfair to Mussolini, whose worst mistake was choosing Hitler as an ally.
