Dear Editor,

Great African-American economist/philosopher Dr Thomas Sowell’s: “It is usually futile to try to talk facts and analysis with people who are enjoying a sense of moral superiority in their ignorance” applies to John Glazebrook’s “Public health comes first” HS, 27/12, defence of, and praise and case for Daniel Andrews’ re-election as Victoria’s Premier (especially after the Herald Sun’s “State of deception” 28/12 front-page exposure of the Andrews-led government’s even further chicanery, with secret taxpayers’ money sapping court attempts to hide exposure of Andrews’ abject failure to protect all Victorians’ QR records).

Surely, then, John, you must be Andrews’ favourite ‘uncle’? Because John, with Victoria’s 1.5 million-fewer population than NSW having some 1,500 Covid deaths; to NSW’s around a mere 650 Covid deaths: Daniel Andrews (with his Victorian Labor Government’s “abrogation of duty” – bordering on criminal quarantine and tracking fiasco causing 803 Victorian Covid deaths) has not been (as you claim) able to successfully “…manage the pandemic and public health first”!

And John, parliamentarians not “advocating for business interests” are simply further threatening some 10m Australians’ health, because some 80% of working Aussies are employed by private enterprise. Without work, many Aussies fall into depression and money worries bring on great stresses, causing further ill health. And John, it’s businesses’ (and their employees’) taxpaying that pays for our public and private health systems/hospitals.

That’s why, John, so very many, many more Victorians won’t be voting for your inept/incompetent/deceptive/deceitful ‘nephew’ Daniel Andrews’ Labor Govt. next election!

Yours,

Howard Hutchins
