(Dec. 5, 2021) — In a detailed Sunday-morning monologue posted on Twitter, Newsmax political pundit and former Clinton advisor Dick Morris predicted that Democrats will have no choice but to “dump” the Biden-Harris ticket going into the 2024 presidential election.
Morris, who served as an informal advisor to the Trump 2020 reelection campaign and into the highly-disputed transition period once Biden was declared the winner, is predicting that because of inflation and accompanying economic woes, Biden will not be tenable as a presidential candidate going into the next presidential cycle.
“He’s not going to be the Democratic candidate in 2024, and out with him, like the baby with the bath water, will go Kamala Harris, down the drain,” Morris prognosticated.
“The Democrats can’t and won’t stick with Biden. With his job approval down in the 30s and hers in the 20s, and with them running five points behind Donald Trump, the Democrats are beginning to understand that those dogs won’t hunt,” Morris continued.
Biden’s Vice President, Kamala Harris, is an “even worse” candidate, Morris said, as she is currently polling five points below Biden, whose popularity currently rests at 42%, according to Rasmussen and RealClearPolitics late last week.
He predicted the Democrats will experience a “mind-blowing, back-breaking catastrophe” by losing a significant number of Senate and House seats in the 2022 midterms. “Already, 18 House Democrats decided to hang it up and go sell cars or something instead. That’s almost one out of ten Democratic House incumbents,” Morris said.
He cited a November 28 article at The Hill, an outlet he termed “a Democratic mouthpiece,” which stated that “While campaign season is still nearly three years out and Biden is the unequivocal leader of the party, some progressives are already quietly predicting that if the administration’s poll numbers don’t improve with more deliverables, the grassroots and disgruntled liberals will seek another candidate to compete for the nomination.”
“Progressives” would like someone “more liberal,” the article contends. It referred to public perception of Harris’s job performance as containing “poor optics” on her handling of the southern border crisis.
On Wednesday, Breitbart News reported the number of House retirees as “19.”
“The more they move left,” Morris said of the Democrat Party (6:19), “more and more moderates leave their party altogether and defect to the Republicans.” However, that effect “just gives the left more power in their primaries, because the Republicans are gone,” Morris said, “and off the deep end they go.”
