Australian Educators Urge Public Engagement on Proposed “Pandemic Management” Bill

(Nov. 5, 2021) — The Victorian Public Health and Wellbeing Amendment (Pandemic Management) Bill 2021 is well on the way to becoming law.

This law, like many others, was debated and created without your input. You may think, ‘I’m not in Victoria, this doesn’t affect me.’

Think again.

The image is a clip taken from the current Constitution of QLD. Does this mean Queensland law can dictate what happens anywhere in Australia or the world? Can that happen with the proposed new Victorian laws?

This is not conspiracy. Far from it. Here’s another example:

In 2018 the Victorian Government pushed anti-association laws through the lower house, giving police excessive powers to issue ‘anti-association notices’, for people 14+: who they can and can’t be friends with or spend time with. At that time, the Law Institute of Victoria President said, “These laws breach the privacy of Victorians and take away some of our most fundamental rights.” That law, like most, was debated and created without your input.

Do you want politicians to continue creating their own policies and new laws to suit their own agenda?

OR

Do you want a fair and just democratic Australia?

What sort of Australia do you want? 

You DO NOT vote for a Premier, Health Minister, Prime Minister or any other cabinet member. You vote for candidates in your electorate who may be appointed into those positions. But. They are not appointed by you. EVERY duly elected member is the government. There is no government and opposition. If there was, we wouldn’t have other parties or independents in parliament!

Every voting Australian has the right and duty to inform your elected representatives of YOUR WILL. They in turn MUST represent YOUR WILL in parliament.

EVERY VOTING AUSTRALIAN MUST UNDERSTAND

the constitution, our democracy, your rights and your duty.

The Victorian Public Health and Wellbeing Amendment (Pandemic Management) Bill 2021 is well on the way to becoming law.

Unless we take action and stop it.

What you must do immediately:

Write a letter to your local members, both state and federal and all your state senators (yes it will be a number of letters) asking for a public forum to educate your electorate on this law and the true nature of our constitution, our democracy, our rights and our duty.

Below is a sample letter. Feel free to use this as a guide.

Dear XXX

I know that it is my duty to keep you informed of MY WILL on anything that comes before Parliament, or that should come before Parliament.

IT IS MY WILL that you take immediate action to hold a public forum to educate me and your electorate on The Victorian Public Health and Wellbeing Amendment (Pandemic Management) Bill 2021 and on our constitution, our democracy, our rights and our duty.

Yours faithfully,

(Insert your full name, address and the date, as legal evidence that you are a constituent)

That’s all you need to do. And there’s nothing to stop you from sharing this post, and inviting members of everyone you know to do the same. Just as I’m sharing with you right now.

YOUR rights and duties are powerful. Your voice does matter.

Without your input there is no democracy.
