Dear Editor,
I acknowledge that there’s a tiny, tiny percentage of us biologically born neither completely one sex or the other (who should be treated with great respect and care).
And, it goes without saying that great sympathy should be held for and all mental health treatment provided former AFL footballer Dean Laidley, who is Dean, and not Dani, Laidley, just because Laidley says so (and no government authority should agree with him)!
Dean Laidley is, always has been, and always will be, a biological male! It is biologically scientific nonsense to say any person, biologically, born fully, as a male can be changed into a female (and visa-versa)!
A person’s sex/gender can have bits taken from, added on to, and/or disguised! However, you can never (past puberty, at least) change bone and muscle structure, etc! A case in point is Gavin Hubbard, a biologically-born male weightlifter (quite rightly, causing absolute outrage amongst female weightlifters) on the verge of being permitted to compete in the Olympic Games (yes, the Olympics; and what would the Ancient Greeks have said?) as a woman: Laurel Hubbard, in Olympic women’s weightlifting events (just take a look at Gavin; he’s a bloke alright)!
Which really gutsy Australian politician (male or female) is going to be first to really stand up for real women’s…real rights (and stop all this “gender-bender” nonsense)?
